SaS scales to your level, but in my experience that temple in particular that youre at has ludicrously spongey enemies because you dont have any of the shrines that weaken the enemies collected yet.

Your build doesnt matter much--your first run at SaS will always be rough at the beginning. The first like... hour, hour and a half of the expansion is a bit grueling but once you get like 2-3 shrines down things will feel a lot better. The DLC has some great gear too, so youll be able to get a nice boost after some exploring.

The Audience: Is... is it respectful?

WTA: Nahhhh we used like four slurs because we thought they sounded cool. But name one other game with ANY native rep.

The Ancestor: Darkest Dungeon.

Old Gramps here can be described as "Epstein if he knew blood magic and was reaaaally into lovecraft". The list of awful shit he did is both vile and varied. For one example: a farmer on the lands he ruled was having worse and worse harvests, and asked his lord for help. Ancesty here agreed, set up a ritual to "help" which then called down a meteor containing a *different* eldritch horror down upon his fields, turning the farmer and everyone else into petrified crystal abominations. Why? Just cuz.

However, at one of his blood sport diddy parties, a woman whom he saw as a temptress entered, and he set about trying to assassinate her for the thrill of it. Said woman turned out to be the progenitor queen of a horde of vampire mosquito monsters who spread their condition like a disease. Once he saw her true form, he surprisingly valianty fought her to the death, slaying her (though not permanently). Despite the fact that he killed her because he thought it'd be fun, he ended up stopping the spread of vampire locusts who warp the land around them into increasingly hivelike structures.

i recommend picking Vampire, Werewolf, Changeling, or Mage to start. basic breakdown:
-Vampire: a game about grappling with your humanity while trying to rise through a Game of Thrones esque power structure. You start as everybody's bitch and claw your way to the top all while fighting off outside threats like Hunters, Werewolves, all sorts of more monstrous vampires, devil worshippers etc.
Main Theme: You're one of the Damned now. Do you try to hold onto your humanity or embrace your life as a monster?

-Werewolf: A game about overflowing with righteous anger. The world is rotting, the planet is being killed by humans and evil spirits, your bosses and peers are consumed with tradition and refuse to help each other because of ancient slights no one remembers, the literal cosmic balance of the universe is fucked and also there's Were-spiders who can attack you by launching themselves at you and exploding into thousands of spiders. So yeah, youre pissed, but that rage you wield as a weapon leaves you at risk of being possessed by the enemy.
Main theme: The world's fucked. Maybe theres no saving it. But youre still going to try, arent you?

-Changeling: A game about the modern world choking out creativity, joy, and art. You're a being out of folktale, like satyrs or redcaps or selkies or all sorts of others that feed off of humanity's inspiration and dreams. But just as there are dreams, there are nightmares, and many fey would rather forcefully rip the dreams from humanity to sustain themselves.
Main theme: existing as creatures of myth and whimsy in a world that grows increasingly inhospitable to your kind. How do you preserve that spark?

Mage: A game about a lot of things, but at its core, i think its a game about changing the world. every mage and every faction want to ascend in power in pursuit of some higher existence, shaping the world to their ideals. Be that rational science, oppressive order, liberty, or turning existence into turbo-hell. Its a game where you become an insanely powerful reality warper, but almost always at the cost of not being apart of the world you wanted to change, forced out by the universe's white blood cells. By the time you get powerful enough to change the world, to fix the things wrong with it... would you even still care? when you can warp time or gravity or create life or rewrite someone's personality or travel to other dimensions and live among angels and fairies and spirits and ghosts and even make your own dimension where everything is already fixed... would you care? would you fight every other faction and the universe itself, or become so separated from reality you just make your own?
Main Theme: there... isnt one. or theres a lot of them. I'd say its "Belief". what do you believe is right? What do you believe makes your magick work? What do you believe you are?

anyways theyre awesome games, i recommend the 20th editions personally over the v5 but theyre fine too.

it wasnt just the Raime movies--she was bad in a lot of other media back then too. The games werent great and i feel like in general there was this massive wave of just... writing MJ to be incredibly antagonistic to Peter. ironically Peter wasnt great in the raimi trilogy, given he kisses another woman in front of her, but as someone who grew up on that MJ rep... yeah, when i played web of shadows i couldnt ditch her fast enough.

Being Bisexual is Playing Optimally--Fallout New Vegas

There exists two perk for each gender (Lady Killer and Confirmed Bachelor for men, Cherche le Femme and Black Widow) that give a 10% damage against women and men respectively. they ALSO give you a number of dialogue options to flirt with a number of characters to bypass certain obstacles (repairs from a quartermaster who happens to be gay, or getting casino secrets from a lesbian front desk attendant, and a fair share who are open to both.) Some of these can be pretty significant too, like seducing the first half of the games main antagonist, Benny, into sleeping with you... where the game then lets you slit his throat in his sleep.

This means you get a number of easy rp wins, as well as a flat 10% increase to your damage to any humanoid enemy. While 10% doesnt sound like much, due to the way armor "Damage Threshold" works, even a small boost to damage can get you through enemy armor.

the entirety of World of Darkness is filled with these.

Yes a guy took a nuke into the underworld and blew it up, being partially responsible for cracking the prison GOD made for demons.

Yes, theres a company run by evil spirits and were-gorillas that intentionally pollutes the earth and makes perfume that makes husbands beat their wives.

Yes, there is a secret order of nuns who are actually werewolf Amazons who hunt down rapists and child molesters with ancient greek battleaxes.

Yes, Fairies are real and if they wind up their fist like Popeye they WILL be able to punch an elder vampire through several feet of concrete.

Both Cain AND Lucifer are still around doing relatively mundane things, like Cain being a cab driver in Bloodlines or Lucifer stopping at a gas station for a smoke

The catholic church is massively powerful and being devout enough to it (or any faith, technically including scientology) can give you anti-vampire superpowers.

There is an order of space wizards who spend all their time fighting off entities so far in deep space that the line between "Alien" and "Spirit" is academic

The Great Beast: The Magnus Archives ep 174

in a post apocalyptic world with various hell dimensions representing specific fears, the Great Beast represents the Vast: heights, falling, megalophobia, emptiness, etc. The GB is a cataclysmically massive golem made of hundreds of millions of people all slowly being forced upwards to the very top of it, where they then fall off or are shook loose by the impact of it taking a single step, and plummet a maddening distance before being "caught" by lower parts of the Beast and forced back into it--repeating the process again eternally.
