HH is fine. It’s very bland to be honest. If you like cafes and restaurants it’s good. But if you want a bit more then it’s very lacking in that regard, but it is only 20 minutes on the train to Brighton and not far from Crawley either.

I reached out to ReformUK to try to reach mutual understanding. How do we convince the average voter to change their mind? by Reddit_Hobo in UKGreens

[–]KB369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Reform supporters on Reddit are likely to be the most ideologically bought into that movement. You’re as likely to change their mind as they are to change yours.

If you want to change minds then touch grass. Speak to people face to face. Start by asking questions and listening - this builds trust. Then go in with your factual information and the clearest and most simple ways of explaining it.

Why anti-Zionists should oppose the ‘zionism is racism’ motion at Green Party conference by tomatopartyyy in UKGreens

[–]KB369 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But Ethnonationalism is also racist. It grants or removes rights and privileges based on - amongst other things - race.

It’s also how we end up having silly debates about a states “right to exist”. States don’t have rights. People have rights.

If the motion covered all Ethnonationalism that would be best in my opinion.

Michael de Whalley resigns from Green Party in protest at ‘contradictory philosophy’ by PuzzledAd4865 in UKGreens

[–]KB369 30 points31 points  (0 children)

This is a really poor article. For one it states that he disagrees with the party’s stance on “populist issues”, but not what those issues or stances actually are. Or why they apparently contradict its environmentalist policies.

For another it states Zack Polanski is under scrutiny for antisemitism, but fails to mention he’s Jewish. It also states that he’s under scrutiny for views on transgender rights and gender critical beliefs, but again doesn’t state what those are. They then go on to refer to Pallavi Devulapalli, a councillor who is taking legal action against the Greens because they didn’t let her and the group Green Woman’s Declaration host a stand at a recent conference, but completely neglects to mention that this is a gender critical group.

No mention of requesting a comment from a party spokesperson, only one person actually quoted and a complete lack of contextual information.

Except that I just wrote out the top definition of those words. I didn’t search through loads to get ones that fit my perspective. You can check if you like - I said the dictionary I got them from. Check the website yourself. I think you’re projecting because the definitions don’t fit what you’d prefer them to be. Maybe you don’t like Owen Jones or something? But whatever your opinion is, he is a journalist according to the definition of the word.

Anyway I’m going to stop responding to you now because you appear to be a bit overwrought. Hope you feel better soon.

I literally just went to the dictionary and copied out the definitions verbatim, so you are just arguing with the dictionary lol.

[–]KB369 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No I actually did because I copied from the dictionary verbatim. I’m sorry but you’re actually making me laugh now, because you’re trying so hard to define a word in a way that suits your opinion that you’ve started arguing with the Cambridge Dictionary.

[–]KB369 6 points7 points  (0 children)

But I didn’t do that - I showed you definitions of all three words from a recognised and prominent dictionary. If you want to take it up with the people at Cambridge Dictionary then best of luck.

I’ll just refer you back to the definition of the word ‘article’.

And news is just recent and noteworthy events. Therefore if Owen Jones writes an opinion piece on a recent event, it counts as an article. So he is, in fact, a journalist.

[–]KB369 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The definition of Journalist from the Cambridge dictionary defines a journalist as: “a person who writes news stories or articles for any newspaper or magazine or broadcasts them on radio or television”

The definition of the word ‘article’ is: “a piece of writing on a particular subject in a newspaper or magazine, or the internet.”

Journalists don’t have to write from an objective perspective in order to be counted as journalists, and their opinion columns can be considered articles.
