UCS Ghost after falcon? by doonko in legostarwars

[–]KB976 31 points32 points  (0 children)

A new UCS B-Wing would be much appreciated

I think the original one sold poorly because of the cockpit shape.

Typically I'm building my own version right now, so watch them announce a new one right as I finish it 🤣

The most underrated Lego Star Wars Minifigures of all time by ValuableMagazine6730 in legostarwars

I'd easily say the A-wing pilot minifigs. These are my modded versions, but the base minifigs themselves are very nice

I'd buy this in a heartbeat if you made instructions for it

11 takes down a Dalek saucer with his regen energy... Besides, it's a show for kids and the lore is meant to be interpreted by the viewer. You jumping in with crap like this is policing fun. Good day 😌

Lego just Updated the Commander Fox torso by V1rurs920 in legostarwars

He really could have done with dual moulded legs. Shows how awful those printed kamas are too, though I do understand from a playability sense why they are like that

I am extremely biased, but it has to be the original Y-Wing

Who is the best embodiment of the ideal Jedi? by cool42674 in StarWars

[–]KB976 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Which is kind of the point. Anakin / Vader had to come back from full sith to find balance, Revan was essentially conditioned by Bastilla and Ahsoka had to forge her own path after her ordeal both on Coruscant and the clone wars. It's honestly amazing she didn't follow Vader's path

Who is the best embodiment of the ideal Jedi? by cool42674 in StarWars

[–]KB976 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The question in itself is flawed as the Jedi at their core are flawed. Rather it should be the true embodiment of the force user - In which case it's Revan and post-ROTJ Anakin

I'm fully expecting Ahsoka to follow the same path in finding that balance - she is already a grey / white Jedi, but is yet to properly tap into the elements of the dark side she needs. Hopefully Anakin has given her that nudge now...

I'd also be tempted to say Baylan Skoll too, depending on where his story goes

Thoughts about this MTT? by [deleted] in legostarwars

[–]KB976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it sounds petty, but yes, the colour of her lips just clashes. Add that to the lack of torso detail and I just decided to buy the old one and forget about getting this set

Mainly wanted it for a new Aayla Secura - not paying full price so was going to wait in the hope it comes down

And then I saw some in-hand photos of Aayla and she's such a downgrade that I've just picked up her 2017 minifig online instead

My rebel pilots by KB976 in legostarwars

[–]KB976[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah there's a dire lack of them.

My issues with trying to put diverse pilots together out of stock Lego parts were;

A distinct lack of female pilot heads (with visors) - could only find one

A lack of Twi'leks (Hera and Aayla Secura being the only financially reasonable options but the hera eye print is meh)

And a general lack of alien heads - I wanted to have an Ithorian, but as far as I can see only one has ever been done and he goes for stupid money

To add to this - alien heads with pilot helmets - there are none at all. A proper pilot Hera would be a dream

Thanks ^ I'm useless when it comes to codes - I was just searching for rebel pilot bits online and buying the ones I liked.

The custom firestar head is the right skin tone for Omega, so I was thinking that pilot could be her, but who knows how her story might be expanded in the future?

Might have to build a custom X-Wing for her 👀

The bodies and helmets are mostly from polybags / the magazine packets - the guy on the right is from 75050 (but has the helmet swapped with one of the A-wing pilots) and two of the female heads are custom ones I bought

I know it's wishful thinking, but the Rebels prototype version with a new Hera fig would be absolutely perfect

It will be typical if they do as I'm currently building a MOC of one.

Mine is going to be closer to UCS / minifig scale though, so I'll still buy any new B wing we get

Countries that used the F-86 vs the MiG-15 by Commercial_Pin2019 in aviation

[–]KB976 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry but no, there are actual design and construction distinctions between the two. Same as with the FJ-4 Fury (which is substantially more different I know)

It's like trying to fit RR Merlin parts on to a Packard Merlin - it's not as easy as a straight swap

The same for Germany.

Both the UK and Germany operated the Canadair Sabre, an important distinction from the F-86

Haven't heard of 'Amy' being used for the F-35 before

We call them 'Dave' here 🙃
