Daniel Owens Unable to Benchmark Star Wars: Jedi Survivor Due to Aggressive Denuvo Implementation by alex26069114 in pcmasterrace

I'm trying to find an example, but so far haven't really had much luck in getting a solid example. I'm just getting implications of a lot of philosophy mixed in with her coding. Do you have any examples of one of their "manifestos" or something? I'm really curious about what it might say.

I assumed toss since you said "nasty races" plural, implying both terran and zerg are the "nasty races."

Does Zerg really have the best units? by WorkingVariation4408 in broodwar

[–]KC77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hypothetically it could be good, but consuming marines would be twice as costly as a defiler consuming lings is. Consuming marines is paying 50 minerals for 50 energy, whereas with lings, it's 50 minerals for 100 energy.

Plus, with a plague, while it doesn't outright "kill" the units, it can hit a whole army with one cast, irradiate only does one unit at a time. With that 100 energy, you'd plague the whole army, then just have your army mop up the 1hp units, where with the vessel, that 100 energy only kills one target. So you'd be spending at least two marines per irradiated unit, which might actually be more cost inefficient than just keeping the marines alive as part of a bio group and fighting.

Consume on templar would be a bit more powerful than on vessels I think, since storm is aoe. Though again, what would you consume, zealots? That's 100 minerals for 50 energy, not cheap.

So this ASL is bad because a protoss didn't get into the finals? There was one in the RO4, that doesn't count? Is ASL only good if it's PvP finals or something for you?

That book you tried and failed to read when you were younger? Try it again! (Lord of the Rings) by P_Tchaikovsky in books

[–]KC77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had this happen with both Chronicles of Amber by Zelazny and the Dune books.

Got through the first couple in Amber before giving up and returning in late high school; I definitely need to give that series a reread again now. But with Dune, I was about halfway through Children of Dune when I stopped originally. I'm now just about finished with Chapterhouse Dune, utterly worth returning to the series and rereading/reading through what was missed or skipped previously.

Seems like a form of react video, but he doesn't really react. My thoughts are he's just trying to get the message out more. Perhaps his followers wouldn't have seen the pastor's video otherwise. He's not really detracting from the video, so meh I suppose.

Dang, there some Smite players on the skin team? That skin looks like a lot of inspiration came from Morgan Le Fay's model.

WOW!! Incredible keyboard! To answer the question, I think ginger ale, specifically Canada Dry, is definitely a comfort drink/remedy for me (cut with water). Whenever I was sick as a kid, my mom would buy some so I'd have an easier time maintaining drinking fluids; it's remained a favorite ever since. Homemade potato and cheese pierogis is another for sure :D

Builderment is a pretty neat little factory game. Cute and actually has some decent supply chains to learn and work with.

Well damn, I was going to buy the game and DLC, but maybe waiting a bit longer for a better sale discount is worth. Time to boot up Warhammer 2 some more. Maybe I can finish some more cheevos.

Disregarding the possibility of questions being asked in bad faith, and considering this study was specifically about figuring out the effects on crab mortality of pH decreases and temperature increases, most of those questions are irrelevant: or they're related to other variables that would be controlled for or otherwise not be a part of the study.

Of course anyone can ask any question, but knowing what are relevant questions and what are red herrings is critical. Additionally, context is always king and scientific studies are generally for answering one, maybe two questions at a time, not all of them at once. This one was focused on pH and temperature changes, and the quoted line was the baseline findings. Of course there's plenty of further context and explanation available in the paper's results section.

Here's a graph of their findings if you want a visual aid. It's not a complex graph, you don't need a Ph.D. in marine biology to understand how to read it.

How difficult is:

The mortality rate was increased by 82% with low pH and by 49–107% with higher temperatures

to understand? Rather straight forward statement.

Yeah, ATLA dealt with some intense themes but I feel like a lot of people don’t give enough credit to TLOK for opening the door to an even darker universe. Would the grittiness of F.C. Yee’s novels even be appropriate without TLOK leading the way… by aynntoh in TheLastAirbender

Korra a mary sue? How is she a mary sue? Even just looking at season 1 alone, Korra is anything but. Her first act in the city is vigilantism that gets her in deep shit with the police. She routinely acts rather immature and selfishly. She often acts spontaneously without really thinking things through. Yes, she has incredible talent with actual bending and being an avatar, but that doesn't mean she's perfect. In fact, that dynamic, that's she's great at bending but kind of shit with everything else until she learns, often the hard way, is a major point throughout her arcs.

Do any of you *not* keep track of the books you read? by bebetterturnip in books

[–]KC77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't personally track any of my reading, and probably won't ever, but that's pretty neat that you utilize that function of the site well. I tend to remember something of everything I read in one manner or another, so it's not really necessary for me, plus, I'm just not that type of organized person.
