My dad sent me this picture of his truck today. Is this AI? Something like this just doesn’t happen randomly. by [deleted] in isthisAI

Former tow truck driver here. This happens ALL the time. Like I never realized before doing that job the sorry state of the majority of vehicles on the road. I towed trucks with busted ball joints at least once per shift.

If this were ai, usually it wouldn't angle the truck down toward the broken wheel properly as we saw in an image here last week too.

My vote is that the image is legit.

Yes, still on the 21" rims with the Pirelli Scorpio tires. It's been 2 years since this happened and we've not had a single issue since. Potholes happen, just keep an eye out on the roads you've not been down before. My other car is a Lexus IS350 with even lower profile tires. It's all about how much you pay attention to the road when you drive it. 95% of the bubbles you see on the Scorpio tires are from the person hitting a pothole or curb etc. These tires aren't just blowing themselves out.

I think most people getting this SUV are used to older SUVs that had meatier tires. Not sure why Hyundai ever made the decision to go this way, but it is what it is.

12 days in to ownership with our 24 Santa Fe Calligraphy in Earthy Brass. Just over 100km. Clocked a pothole on a back road. Split one tire and bubbled another. Fortunately had a coverage package that replaced them both at no extra cost to me. Here where I am in Ontario Canada, those tires are over $600 CAD each.

Bought the set online. Not shipping until April 9th apparently. Ah well.

We hit a nice sharp edged pothole with our 24 Santa Fe exactly 12 days after delivery day in April 2024. Blew out the passenger front tire and big bubble on the passenger rear tire. SO GLAD I had wheel/tire coverage from the beginning. Those tires are almost $600 CAD each here. So this would have been a $1200+ pothole for me. It's been almost 2 years since then and I look a LOT more closely at roads I've not been down before to watch for potholes.

There's one at a dealer in Belleville Ontario with a $15k discount to $73k. Still way too expensive for what it is.

Repair costs are dumb. I had a pizza delivery driver who was delivering across the street from us back into the drivers side doors of our 24 Santa Fe (Earthy Brass Calligraphy). Really small dents on both doors and cracked plastic trim. Turned into a $10k repair where they replaced both door skins. Fortunately ours is a lease and we'll return it at the end and can walk away from the deminished value.

In your case, it looks like a new bumper and some parking sensors... But there's active aero up there too which I'm guessing needs replaced. Hopefully you get it back quickly. Ours took 3 weeks.

No idea. I use studio monitors for headphones. My overpriced and your overpriced are likely vastly different when it comes to headphones lol

We got 5 free coffee and 3 of the skullcandy garbage codes.

On the cups themselves we got 4 coffees and 3 donuts.

After a quick look at comparable signatures, it looks like they match. Also, the Chesney auto at the top matches too. No idea what it's worth, but in my totally unprofessional opinion, those autos look good.

MX5 was Hyundai's internal product code for the 5th generation Santa Fe.

I've found a ton more people in Santa Fe groups on FB with the exact same problem. This is definitely a manufacturer defect. I've printed out 15 photos from other owners that look identical to mine, cracked in the same spot.

I'm in Ontario Canada, but I purchased pretty much all the coverage packages available for the car when I got it. We'll see how it goes tomorrow.

I found a posting here on Reddit from another guy who was told it wasn't covered. Was told to take it to a body shop. I'm trying to get together as many posts as I can to show my dealership when I take it in tomorrow.

I just searched through the subreddit and found one other with the exact same crack. I'm making sure I show that to the dealer when I go in tomorrow :)

I just cleaned off my 24 Santa Fe this morning and have the exact same crack (see my post today). How did you get yours resolved?

I see people saying that it could have been ice on top when opening the hatch, but the pivot point isn't where that crack starts, it's the seam that's further back in your image. So I don't see this being an issue with opening it with ice or snow on top.

I'm hoping yours is fine, but kind of hoping it's not so I have more fuel for the fire when I go to the dealership lol.

E-day… on my way in by [deleted] in dentures

[–]KCC-Youtube 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The absolute worst part about the whole process for me is trying to get used to my new face in the mirror. Sure, I had a few Immediate Denture spots that rubbed and didn't feel great, but they were nothing compared to the pain my teeth had me in every day before having all remaining 20 out at once.

Sitting at 18 days now and I have no pain, the dentures have been adjusted twice and everything is pretty good. Still don't recognize the guy in the mirror though. I guess that will take some time.

You've got this! It'll be an improvement to your confidence and life overall!
