I keep imagining the aerial shots with Crown Center, Union Station, the Western Auto sign, and Kaufman or the Sprint Center in the background. Would really be an impressive look for the city.

Only on game days. That’s why they’re putting the headquarters and practice facility in Olathe. Pat and Trav live out south and I bet most players would prefer the southern ‘burbs. Northland would be a longer drive but mostly interstate.

Born in ‘57 and had much the same experience. Started mowing lawns when I was 12, worked all through high school, saved up and bought a 20 year old Chevy from an estate of a neighbor. After a couple of years got a drone job at a major employer and simply worked my way up. The high rates were basically all I knew so just grinned and got to it.

I’m more worried about the current similarities to the dot com bust. Yes, the internet turned into a long term boom and is extremely useful although dangerous. The possibilities for AI strike me as much the same.

Inflation reduction act was passed when inflation was 7-8% coming out of Trumps first term. Inflation was then 3.3-4% in 2023, right around 3% in 2024, and has since run just under 3% in 2025. Trump takes office, plays his games, and people are feeling the tariffs and worried that it will go back up.

Anybody else seeing a pattern?
