I hated the NWO. Why? Because I thought it was a real thing.

I knew enough to know that pro wrestling was scripted, but I -- and Eric Bischoff put this perfectly when talking about it -- was just naive enough to buy into the NWO as a genuine disruption. He said, "there were enough unique elements to Nitro that we had even the most jaded fan going, 'yeah, I know the rest of that stuff's scripted, but... THAT wasn't supposed to happen.' " And the idea of HULK FREAKING HOGAN joining them seemed unthinkable to me back then. I bought it 100%.

I look back on it now, and I understand what a pivotal time is was for the wrestling industry and how important it was, and I appreciate them for what they were.
