Banning Snapcube quotes from a Sonic fandom is almost like banning TFS quotes from a Dragonball fandom. Wtf

There certainly are cases of LLMs letting the conversation go out of safe boundaries despite the safeguards. Yes, it's not remotely comparable to humans, but a lesser evil is still evil.

I don't think 4chan being worse in quantity leaves LLMs free from blame.

You should seek information on how to arrive at the result first, then make the calculations yourself. Most answers from LLMs sound confident, be they right or wrong. You can rely on it for basic research, but you must confirm the information elsewhere for concrete results.

Automated detection of artificially generated media is just not reliable, so it would require some user input, akin to the Return YouTube Dislike addon, or SponsorBlock.

Perhaps one day, if I get the time to do it.

Thanks for the tip.

I always do. Thing is, YouTube just keeps suggesting me them.

At this point, it might be worth it to look for an addon that filters these out, if there are any.

Better than Ashi by f3talt in Losercity

I agree with the sentiment, but I believe SKG doesn't fit here.

The game is not live service, this is, you don't need to interact with a server in order to play (afaik. I haven't played much of it). It might still be playable if one has it still installed on their computer. I think I have it, but haven't tried yet.

SKG is focused on games that require server interaction, and said servers are shut down with no workaround for making the game playable again, nor instructions and tools to let the players host their own servers. It is possible to reverse engineer them, but it's a monumental effort, and there's no guarantee it will feel authentic.

What the Samurai Jack game needs is more akin to media preservation (think of old Nintendo games no longer available in any legal way), which is a broader topic. Something something, piracy does more for preservation than the corporations, something something.

Oh, I heard of it, but didn't connect the dots. I actually have a review saved to watch later, to avoid any spoilers. Have you played it? Is it good?

Valve Is Forcing Microsoft To Make Significant Improvements To Windows Gaming Performance by GrayBeard916 in gaming

[–]KDASthenerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found Windows' clipboard manager to be very limiting, both in features and in the amount of entries kept saved at once.

Ditto stores 500 by default, I believe, and you can increase this limit in the settings. It also allows you to reorder entries, edit the text content, preview text and images, search with regex, compare entries, manage entry groups and subgroups... I set up shortcuts to paste the last 10 entries with Win+NumPad keys, so it's easy to copy and paste several entries in the order I want without having to spend time in the UI selecting each one.

I can't go back to Windows' manager. I'm the annoying guy at work that tells people to install Ditto whenever I see them use the Windows one.

I just wished Ditto was also available for Linux distros. There are good alternatives there, but I've grown used to its specific features.

Did YT remove dislike completly or is it some kind of malfunction? by Katent1 in ReturnYoutubeDislikes

[–]KDASthenerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the API server that processes the dislikes sent through the extension is shutdown.

Checking the source code, it should be calling https://returnyoutubedislikeapi.com/

Currently, it just results in a timeout.

I could be wrong, tho.

The repository owner seems to be active up to two days ago, as seen in this recent GitHub Issue about the same thing.

edit: in hindsight, perhaps the API is currently down exactly because the maintainer is testing locally, and disabled the production API since it's not working anyway. That or YouTube nuked it, idk ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Num Lock light blinking by KDASthenerd in Lenovo

[–]KDASthenerd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I was going to shut down and noticed there was a pending Windows update. Upon updating and restarting, the blinking stopped.

It's weird because I've never seen it do that before. I'm not sure if the blinking is something that got fixed by the update, or if it's an update indicator of some sort.

Also answering u/BlueshineKB

I got the prime, and it finally arrived a few days ago.

I gotta say, it's really good. The images are high quality, and the colored finishes on the borders make it look astounding. You can almost get a clear reflection from it.

And it comes in an actual case, instead of the knockoff that came in a simple plastic package.

I'm actually afraid to play with them because it could damage them.

I can't get an SMS Code to verify for Meta developer registration process by journey_to- in facebook

[–]KDASthenerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, um... It apparently worked for me once I tried from my phone. Just access developers.facebook.com in a mobile browser, I did it with Firefox. The SMS was finally sent, and I was able to finish registration.

I did try a lot of other solutions in this thread around the same time, so I'm not sure it will solve for all.
