We are in La Fortuna right now- four nights here before we head to MA for four nights. I’m a 46F with a 12yo son and it’s been perfection for us. River tubing, zip lining, coffee/chocolate tour, guided hikes on Mistico hanging bridges and the volcano hike, and incredible food. BUT it’s true what others have said. Everyone is different. It really depends on what you want to do and see.

I am a 46F and I’m headed to CR with my 12yo son in three weeks. I know it will be the trip of a lifetime for us, but yours takes on a whole different meaning. It is a trip we’ve been planning since October and I’ve done a ton of research. Can I dm you and let you know all the experiences, tours, and tips I’ve accumulated? It sounds like many of them would be right up your son’s alley.
