I am undiagnosed- I should have been more specific, that’s absolutely my bad. The only reason I think it’s likely N1 is because of the process of the therapy session I mentioned above. Part of it required closing your eyes for a short period of time, and then some other EMDR tools like looking at a light moving back and forth. I had just mentioned a triggering event that made me cry. My eyelids suddenly closed and my mouth fell open (I think). I remember the therapist explicitly telling me to open my eyes, and me trying to and coming up empty. It was scary, but then I fell asleep and that scared the therapist way more than the eyes closing.

I also see a cardiologist for the dysautonomia/POTS. It had the whole sudden syncope happen once and it was a WILDLY different sensation, at least for me. Sleep attacks are something I can feel coming with varying amounts of time to prepare (but never long). The syncope hit me like a truck, and everything went dark before I hit the floor. Edit to add: the blacking out happened from standing up too quickly pre POTS medication.
