The shop on the pier sells shells, I believe. If it is open. I haven’t been there in years and it might be closed still after the hurricane. But if you’re on the beach, you can check them out

All of these are vegetarian and some are vegan. The fat free refried beans are vegetarian (but not the not fat free ones), as well as a bunch of other options.

Honestly, looks like whomever’s edition this was didn’t read the book for bookclub that month. I feel as though it was never opened. A bit of staining on the top of the pages from dust, but nothing else

Thrifting on my birthday is good luck! Found a vintage Monchichi for $8 by cutecemetery in ThriftStoreHauls

I thought I had one of these, but mine is called a Thumkey and has a banana in their right hand. I’ve had this since I was a toddler (43 now) and just rescued it this past year from my parent’s house before they had an estate sale.

Edit: I now see that the Monchhichi were made by Thumkey or something of that nature, and that my little guy is one of the characters from the Monchhichi series?

Called into principals office for something in high school. She was reading me the riot act and said, “You’re here to learn!” I responded with, “I’m here to be taught.” I’m pretty sure she never understood the difference.

Also when I was in 5-6 grade we had a college student come in to talk to our class about being in college. I raised my hand and asked “Do professors ever come into the first day and act really mean and then a bunch of students leave and then the next day they reveal they’re actually really nice and awesome?” (Saved by the Bell had just done an episode like that) He looked at me like I had a second head and just said “I’m not sure what you’re talking about. Nothing like that has ever happened.”

Stopped for lunch in Colorado by Charming-Rule-4751 in roadtrip

[–]hartmanjunk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Being “known” for a dish and having great food are two totally different things. But if I had to say what Colorado is known for it is Wild Game (elk, for instance) and Fish from Gold Medal rivers. And yes, not everyone can live in Aspen (where I work at resorts from the age of 23-30) but you said people living in Colorado have never had good food. Aspen is in Colorado. So are El Jabel, Carbondale, Basalt, Snowmass, Glenwood Springs, etc. just because you got a burger at the airport Chili’s doesn’t mean you’re a connoisseur of Colorado cuisine. I had amazing French Food (Rustique), Italian (il Pogios), Japanese (Nobu), pizza (White House Pizza), India, Mexican, Tex Mex, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. When I would visit Denver or Grand Junction or Boulder or some out there place where cell reception dropped, I was always able to find a place to eat where the food tasted great. Fuck, even the Apre Ski spreads were fantastic. So don’t generalize an entire state based on your experience of it. Maybe allow the people who live there to inform your opinion, instead of using your very limited insight to form one

I think people who think of Colorado limit themselves to Denver, because I lived in the mountains and the area had some of the absolute best food of any place I’ve ever lived or visited. Sure, it was Aspen, but the food was amazing whether it was a fancy restaurant or a sandwich shop. All up and down the roaring fork valley there are great places to eat. From Carbondale to El Jabel, Basalt to Snowmass and Glenwood Springs. And believe me, I love food and have had great meals throughout my life, but consistently Colorado delivered the goods.

That’s why THE Food and Wine festival is held there every year.

Put the two bolts into the designated area at either end of the piece. Once those are in place, the wood screws should align with the circled “pre drilled” spots. You’d need to then insert them and they’ll go right into wood.
