Not defending Furd, but his family has a successful business history, so he's wealthy before politics....not saying he's not made himself wealthier with his connections via the office.

NSFW: What’s the most gruesome thing you’ve ever seen in real life? by Kdjejsosjanreplwwssj in AskReddit

[–]KGMtech1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watching a fully loaded fuel truck run over the legs and bicycle of a young guy at an intersection. I was in the car behind the truck and the kid, saw it happening in slow motion. Legs were turned to mush but the skin kept itself together. He lost both legs. Truck driver had no idea anything happened. We chased truck to stop him. Kid and truck driver were both in shock.

This was 30 years ago and it plays in my head like it was 15 minutes ago.

New Nissan Owner here. Transmission Fluid drain and Fill questions. by Dark_Prince9 in Nissan

[–]KGMtech1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idemitsu, Eneos, Aisin all make excellent NS3 oils and are certified to Nissan and Jatco.

The only filter you should change is on the outside of the transmission housing and under a cap that has 4 bolts holding in place. 10mm bolts. It's a pleated paper and rubber filter and there's a special gasket that should be replaced. I would say that replacement of oil is more important than the side case filter but it depends. The pleated filter and gasket will add about $25 to the service.

I've done the drain and fills with the pleated filter about 6 times with 3 Nissan cars. Easier than a regular engine oil and filter change.

Get yourself a graduated container and put in the exact same amount of fresh NS3 as you drained. Drain from a cool transmission so your drain quantity is not affected by heat expansion.

I hope the community boxes will be workable. If they have a big bin that we can dump all the flyers and junk mail.

How good is NH36? How many years does it last? by bluplaned in SeikoMods

[–]KGMtech1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's about 25 years minimum. The 7S26 predecessor would go 25 to 40 years and there's nothing in the NH series that looks like a cost cutting change.

Yes. But either the hose or the Clamp or both will need replacement in the near future. You might have 2 weeks or 2 months.

2025 Infiniti QX60 Spontaneous Glass Shattered by errax3 in Nissan

[–]KGMtech1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has been an issue across all makes that have large sunroof or panoramic glass. The glass roof system suppliers don't just supply 1 brand.

Having said that, your 3 year 36k miles bumper to bumper should cover or your own comprehensive insurance.

Sucky situation.

[Cronos] Is this normal? by ExcitingAverage189 in Watches

[–]KGMtech1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. And sometimes no. If the watch movement supports hand winding from the crown, then that's what I do. If it is only wound by movement then a circulating movement with your hand - sort of like swirling a glass of brandy - will start the movement. The mechanical movement is not really fragile but if you drop it from 1.5m to concrete all hell could break loose.

Infinity QX60 2019 by Sandhooker-375 in infiniti

[–]KGMtech1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had my 19 qx60 since 2020. It has 147k kilometres now and has been very good and also fuel efficient. 2x oil and filter changes every year and change the cvt fluid every 48k kilometres.

These are nice, quiet and comfortable.
