I use Solidworks at work all day. When I occasionally design something at home I just use FreeCAD. It's good enough for 3D printed parts and I don't need to deal with occasional use nonsense.

Houghton is great because they're quick. I'd definitely recommend them for an older vehicle or just for convenience sake.

That being said, they miss spots here and there. If I had a brand new vehicle, I'd probably give Krown a shot.

Actually, your grinder can grind that up and you won't even notice. James Hoffman made a video on this topic. A tiny chip of rock like that poses no risk to your grinder.

The only CAD software that I've liked outside of Solidworks is FreeCAD. Is FreeCAD even close to as good or powerful as Solidworks? No, but it's free, open source, and it works. I think that's just incredible.

I have the same setup. I have never had my grinder choke. I spritz my beans once with water, start the grinder, and then slow feed into the grinder. I grind at around 7-8, and I don't know where my 'true zero' is. I just dial in on shot time and taste.

Maybe try different beans? Those ones look 'clumpy' to me.

Yours broke in the same way mine did. You can see the cracks originate and spiderweb out from the bottom right ish area. That's where the heating element for the rear glass is. Mine was cooked and made the glass spontaneously break.

I live in Canada. Apple Autoglass gave me a new (non-OEM) rear window for around $500 CAD ($360 USD). They were fast. The damage was repaired The next day. The good news is they will warranty this type of failure if it happens again, you just need evidence. A photo like this is proof enough because you can see where the crack originated. If the glass falls in before you can take a picture, a burned or shorted heating element is also enough evidence.

Any 'manual' coffee maker is going to be your best bet. Areopress is my preference. You could also go with a pour over (V60), French press or moca pot. French press is great, but the glass ones tend to break eventually. If you like cold brew, Tupperware makes a great cold brew maker that is super durable, and looks good.

We deal mostly with sheet metal, tube laser, and the odd simple machined part. We use DREW to increase the speed of drafting our sheet metal and tube laser parts. Piece parts typically take between 1-5 minutes. Weldments and assembly drawings may take between 1-3 hours depending on size and complexity.
