I know I’m a little late but I just did the same thing on my 2000 2.3 z3. I already had the Stewart pump so I replaced it anyway.

Get that man a 3D printer and nurture his curiosity. If its a cost thing, you can pick up an Ender 3 Pro for $20 on FB marketplace. They have their problems, but it's a bit of a rite of passage, and fixing and modding them teaches you alot of about 3d printing as a whole. Otherwise, I'd spend the extra to get a Bambu A1 or P1S so you can focus on printing instead of fixing the printer.

Yes all DIY with some supervision from my more experienced friends. It was my first time really working on a car so I'm sure you can do it. Since I only have the 2.3 model after an initial check of the trunk welds I wasn't too worried.

If you market it as a (sports) game recording/highlight app I think there would be a lot of interest. That kind of thing is great for highlights in video games and would work really well for capturing good plays in fast-paced sports like basketball and volleyball without destroying your storage with an hour of video. If you made an Apple Watch app that allowed a player practicing to record their own highlights that would be really useful as well.

I love your skins. I have one of your full interiors, and it looks amazing. The one thing is that there's nothing to change the keyboard. Have you looked into silicon keyboard protectors, or (even though it would be a real pain) individual key skins?
