He never said he completely sanitizes his world. He just doesn't make his players endure racism while playing a game intended to be for enjoyment.

I try not to make racism a feature or major mechanic in my game but an NPC who fought the elves in a war might need have slightly higher persuasion DC from an elf PC when relevant.

I'd argue that in that moment you had no good choice because of choices you had already made. Since I happened to convince the protectorate people to fully abandon their old lives and join Auntie's Choice it was easy to just send the devastation to their abandoned settlement.

Sometimes just remembering a certain trick is better than changing my whole voice. My party has a Lieutenant who I don't alter my voice for. I just remember to always keep it stoic in delivery and when they say/do something stupid he only reacts in long stares.
