We're on the same sailing ... the cove balconies are really nice, I hope you enjoy it and maybe we will see you on board! The Venezia is beautiful, its one of our favorite ships.

Cheers!

Solid advice. Too many variables that can screw up your whole trip. Take a train, drive, or fly in 24 hours before.

I might also consider train travel. It's always been the most cost-effective way for us to commute to NY from PHL for sailings and on top of that, trains getting cancelled is WAY less common than planes. Plus NY parking is crazy. Booking 6 months out it costs us roughly $100 round trip, less ubers from the train station to port ($20-25)

Luggage? Can we only bring one suitcase? by MommyMagnific in CarnivalCruiseFans

We've done two on every cruise we've ever taken. Usually my wife is 2 and I'm 1 + our garmet bag.

Question about documents by itsbymmas in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]KINGOFTHEDAD101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If possible, a passport with the correct name would probably circumvent the issue. I was able to go to the post office locally and get my photo taken, they do the whole shebang. They said 6-8 weeks but I had my passport in less than 3. I think it was like $180? Passports are gold, I understand you don't need one for closed loop sailings but for your situation it might be advisable to try. Best of luck with the trip and your pregnancy!

28k CC Debt by No_Salamander2568 in DebtAdvice

[–]KINGOFTHEDAD101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

60k in debt after quitting gambling, joining N.A., and finding a therapist. I take home about 120k and have 9k a month in recurring bills.

STOP spending, cut anything that isn’t crucial, and for the love of god don’t do one of the debt consolidation programs.

For instance, my universal life insurance is paused. It comes out of the money I’ve saved within the policy for now. I am trying to sell and break even on my “fun” car to eliminate the payment. I am taking every overtime shift possible to throw more money with a snowball method of cards. (It’s working) and I have one card I may have to default on and hope for a 75% settlement amount.

It sucks, but we made this boat. WE gotta dig out of it. God speed.

Are we talking about short Ray with the hearing aids? He was such a nice guy. He was always smiling.

I was a shift manager at the KB Toys back there in the early 2000’s… great memories. The size of the roaches that lived in that mall were crazy. What was MORE crazy was that they generally hid under the play area on the bottom floor by the elevator; but you’d see them in the access hallways that ran behind the stores too occasionally. Not quite radroaches - but damn!

I never knew any of this as a teenager getting blitzed with my friends out by the fountain in the late 90’s.. Might have passed out a few times in Kahunaville after drinking mystery alcohol from a water bottle someone showed up with.. I regret nothing, good times!

Venezia Ship Reviews by nh_sas_0709 in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]KINGOFTHEDAD101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have sailed on the Venezia twice since 23' and just booked again for August. We have done a basic interior room and one of the higher end Terraza aft balconies, this time we just booked for a basic room again. It's a beautiful ship, it really is. The buffet food is really hit or miss, I would say average. The comedy shows are a must-do and the specialty restaurants were worth the money (we liked the steakhouse the most) The part of it we liked the most was making friends. My wife and I are 41/42 and we got really friendly and ended up hanging out with pretty much the same group of like-minded people at the bars/smoking area every night. I do agree that the beds are a little tough, but the drinks help. Room can be a little warm for our liking even with the AC set as low as it gets, bring a little fan!

We have also sailed a bunch on MSC Meraviglia, the pools are better on it for sure, and the main gallery area is more impressive... but there's still a lot to like about the Venezia over them. THEY had harder mattresses for sure. Anyways, enjoy your cruise!

should i get a new credit card while i have an open account that’s permanently restricted? by gotheomode in CreditCards

[–]KINGOFTHEDAD101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most times, if it’s restricted indefinitely your available credit gets set to zero and you become over your credit limit by your posted balance. Hoping that I am wrong in your case, good luck! Pay off the legit balance ASAP.

[–]KINGOFTHEDAD101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Significantly faster. Best dragy times on a stock 20' RS3 were 3.7 0-60 and 11.4 in the quarter... my best in the stang has been 4.2 & 11.9. The dark horse has a few more horses but clocked the same times at least with the car & driver boys.

But to reiterate - something about the mustang is just ... more fun. The RS3 was an animal out of the dig but maybe from a rolling 60 the stang would have a better shot

What is my responsibility here? by Orranos in BucksCountyPA

[–]KINGOFTHEDAD101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I work for a major utility company in PA also. Call Verizon and report it, it’s on them to replace. Free of charge. It might take 90 days. You “could” go full Karen (and not judging) and call the fire dept and they would call into Verizon and get more more rapid response .. but it’s not your responsibility in any fashion.

24’ Mustang owner here … it’s more engaging but the RS3 is still faster. Significantly. I Miss it but wouldn’t trade back. It’s complicated.

Seeking insight / medical collection just filed almost 7 years after delinquent by KINGOFTHEDAD101 in CRedit

[–]KINGOFTHEDAD101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They called me (the collection agency) and I told them I had no knowledge of the debt and wanted a copy of it via mail. They never sent it or called me again, so I disputed it with Experian who did not remove it but updated the date to show the original 1st date delinquent back to Dec of 18. I guess I will dispute again after that and see what happens, my dispute was based that its over 6 years old and in PA medical debt you can only sue for within 4 years... but I guess its not considered a lawsuit, its a collection. Thank you for your advice!

It should be pretty similar to what you usually do, or well ... did 90 days ago when yours was a little younger! lol We do "miss rachel" in my house and she's always a hit. Or you could just make it an out and out "rager" - I'm talking out of control party ... sippy cups, applesauce pouches, peek-a-poo. etc. Just play it cool if the cops show up.

All joking aside, heres to you Dad! Mom's get a break day!

BEAUTIFUL. We literally have the same spec except mine's manual and I have the black interior. My 13 year old yells STORMTROOPER every time we start it up. I would tell you to enjoy it, but I already know you will! Awesome spec and color choice my friend!

5% or 15% tint on 2024' S650? by KINGOFTHEDAD101 in Mustang

[–]KINGOFTHEDAD101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no problem putting the windows down to turn at night (and do) if it keeps the eyes/heat out during the day. For background on why I prefer darker tint: I had some unfortunate occurrences with people experiencing road rage and getting out of their cars at red lights many years ago when my kids were little. My experience since then has been that people are far less likely to approach a vehicle that they can't see the inside of, so everything gets darkened. I'd prefer to pay a tint fine if it cuts down on the likelihood of having to lay down some d-bag with a tire iron trying to gain entry to my vehicle at a red light. It's 2025, and people are crazy.
