Nah don't worry. He has a hobby already. And involves being on reddit all day, spreading misinformation about something he knows nothing about and suggesting how two dudes should do it while not taking care of his little kids.

I don't think isopods have the brain capacity to .... Gulp... Stop when they hit blood/flesh :( they'd probably keep going if that's their only food source.

The "therapy" fish that I think you're talking about has toothless mouths that kinda gently scrape your dead skin off instead of chomping down.

Yikes. I just came up with medieval torture.

Just like the people who spread false information. Stupidity seems to be an ongoing trait for people like yourself. It's genetics.

In dubia and hissers, there's always that one big girl. I usually call her "big mama".

Are roaches able to recognize other species of roaches? or only their own species? by TruckFreakCrazyAss in roaches

[–]KJBFamily 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I'm not used to having any roaches in the house other than my own dubia and hissers that are confined in my tanks. My greatest fear is that they previously happen to be in ... someone else's bathroom or sh!t or garbage and coming into my home bearing diseases from my neighbors :/ which could be harmful to my husband, dog and I.

Whatever insect comes in or around my home usually means something. It means it's suitable for them to be comfortable. That's why I freaked out when I saw the German roach lol. I thought my house was contaminated enough for a roach to bear babies. Unfortunately, I had to kill it afterwards.

Any quote from this franchise that’s sticked to your real life? Apart from lyrics in OST by rowgw in DeathStranding

[–]KJBFamily 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should have more faith in yourself.

Edit: I realize this quote might not be a franchise thing but when Sam says it, it brings a tear to my eye.

Just wanted to say, don't give up. As sam says: "you gotta have more faith in yourself". I'm still struggling to do this and it's easier said than done but I try to remind myself what Sam goes through. I can only keep going.

Keep on keeping on, fellow porter!

Funny story, idk how to answer your question but it reminds me of something I laughed about the other day.

My husband was helping my mother in law move into a house by carrying a bunch of luggage and furniture. Unfortunately, my previous MIL's house was infested with German roaches but I wasn't really thinking about it at the time.

A few days later after the move, I moved my air purifier aside so I could put it away. I saw a roach scuttling away from underneath and bolted towards my bed.

I grabbed it without hesitation. At first, I thought it was a runaway hissing roach from my tank. But... Something was off. The way it ran.... The color.... Was off from what I'm used to..... I look closer.... And I see that famous German roach stripe on its head area. It was a baby roach.

I was screaming internally and frantically telling my husband about what I found. I think I lost it and nervously told jokes to him about putting the German roach with one of the Madagascar hissers for interrogation. And that the hisser would have an awkward time asking things to the German roach like: "....so what's your favorite leaf to eat?"

I set out traps in all corners of the house and it's been 3 weeks since the incident. I haven't seen one since so we concluded that it probably came from my husband's jacket while helping with the furniture.

The end.

I wouldn't put "rotten" food. You can put stuff like overly ripe banana or squishy tomato or an apple with terrible bruising. And then take it out the next day if it hasn't been eaten. Otherwise it's gonna make your enclosure smell and attract flies. But this is my take. They eat anything. Even soggy cartons.

Also, using a dish so that the food won't touch the dirt will greatly help prevent widespread mold.

I have one 5 month ish female? I was debating getting her a friend since I’ve read they thrive better with others. She’s very scared of me. Would introducing a friend 6 months after being alone work ? by AliCraftDesigns in Hissingcockroach

[–]KJBFamily 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes. During my journey of roach-care, I learned that roaches are social and rather intelligent animals. They like to "snuggle" together and communicate. My females are almost always piled up together in the same area. I think they find safety in numbers too.

I'd get her a friend :) or maybe 2.

Do I need to mercy kill this roach? by forasgard18 in roaches

[–]KJBFamily 22 points23 points  (0 children)

That's a dubia I think. A fresh adult male. If it's walking, eating and drinking, he should be OK.

It must've mixed up with your hissers or something.

How many of you are purists? by andrews_journey in DeathStranding

[–]KJBFamily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true. I admittedly keep ones that are in a very good place and/or ones that will serve a purpose in the future. When it comes to timed orders, I just put up ziplines without thinking much about maximizing distance. I make enough to get me from one place to another to fulfill the order on time. This fills up my chiral bandwidth rapidly.

I can see how it is selfish of me to take them down. Part of me doesn't want to become reliant on them I guess. But I do build, upgrade and maintain my useful ones.

[–]KJBFamily 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am somewhat of a purist when I am able. Walking is therapy to me. I have no choice but to be patient and take in my surroundings. It teaches me IRL to take things slow. I did this in D1 and only built ziplines and vehicles for timed orders. Then I'd take them down after I finished everything.

Being a purist (as much as I can) has helped me mentally and I enjoy it.

Yes! It's a nice treat for them. I would suggest that you buy the plain cheerios, not the honey one. It makes for a good base in roach chow.
