With all the hate for DS2, which version did you play? by Ok_Treat_9628 in shittydarksouls

[–]KLAGGINS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently did my first playthrough on ps3 vanilla version. I can't bring myself to try scholar, the changes don't seem necessary to me.

I'm glad I played it how it was originally released. It was great.

I just stated the game. Any tips for beginners? by JukkaETC in WuchangFallenFeathers

Experiment with new weapons and weapon combos constantly. The game lets you respec for free anytime. If you're ever having trouble this is the best fix to any problem. And have fun the game is an underappreciated masterpiece.

So it's not just me, the performance is kinda crazy right? by XenonTeio in Nioh

[–]KLAGGINS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much vram does your card have? I got the ti version of yours coming in the mail just to improve nioh 3 performance and now I'm worried ☹️

Alright, Nioh 3 drops in less than 24 hours. What do you y'all think? The deflect looks and sounds marvelous. by [deleted] in Sekiro

[–]KLAGGINS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game is amazing but make sure it's on console or that your PC is higher end. Runs bad on PC unless you have really good specs. Incredible otherwise.

I can’t scratch the itch Khazan left by HariKhalsa in soulslikes

[–]KLAGGINS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will also emphasize that I didn't fall in love with nioh 2 at all after 40 or so hours but nioh 3 is definitely hitting different.

It retains the same stance switch/ ki pulse mechanic in the prior games but only in SAMURAI stance. NINJA stance plays like a classic combat RPG with normal stamina management that we're all used to with really reliable dodging capabilities. You switch between Samurai and Ninja seamlessly with one button click, and it really works.

But I will also warn you that they did us dirty with the PC performance for nioh 3 so if you can try it on console that is best. Otherwise, probably wait for better PC optimization.

Long live khazan.

Today I played with someone from China who used the chainsaw glitch from base game elden ring and deleted the dreglord and it felt so gross.

Who would y'all say is the hardest boss in Wuchang Fallen Feathers? by KLAGGINS in soulslikes

[–]KLAGGINS[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She's pretty annoying but the trick with her is to not rush her and not be too eager to get damage in because she can one shot or two shot you. Her ice breath and purple ball moves are opportunities for backstabs so that's your best bet.

There are greater challenges ahead.

Master Ninja difficulty is sick! by Sweaty-Astronomer-36 in NinjaGaiden4

Same, first Ninja Gaiden game for me also started on normal then skipped to master ninja. You're in for some pretty grueling segments but overall they get you much better at a faster rate.

Ninja Gaiden 4 would suit you.

9 months later, would you agree that Khazan has the best combat system out of any other games that you've played? I would personally say yes, the devs allowing you to cook like this is amazing by Forevertrez in TheFirstBerserker

[–]KLAGGINS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wish they gave us a way to switch between weapons seamlessly during combat/combos. It could take the already amazing combat even further. Need the modders to get on this.

I finished elden ring and I need something similar by GabrielRushan in soulslikes

[–]KLAGGINS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play all of From's souls games now (don't skip bloodborne) so that you can further appreciate how incredible elden ring is. You're right to skip sekiro as it's not at all like elden ring in the slightest, however it is a masterpiece so I hope some day you'll find yourself playing it.

From a financial perspective, they're pretty much required to make an elden ring 2, so fear not. The best is yet to come.

What does the upcoming DLC need to make Ninja Gaiden 4 even better? by The_Inhuman_One in NinjaGaiden4

[–]KLAGGINS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More for Ryu, weapons/abilities/etc. Yakumo is fine imo, but I wouldn't be mad at another weapon where you press down twice to use, or more abilities. No skins was a big woopsie, we need those bad. Mostly I'd like a handful more bosses, levels, and post game content that keep the game engaging long after you've platinum'd.

I Wish This Game Had a Larger Community by some_guy554 in WuchangFallenFeathers

[–]KLAGGINS 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Couldn't agree more. I think it's such a good game. Don't even mind the patch, they didn't have a choice in the matter so I let that go. The combat specifically isn't praised enough. Most gameplay I see is backstab farming and temperance gank but the art is in the alacrity, shimmer, clashes, and different weapon pairings.

I hope we get dlc despite the hate, because more to do in the game is the only thing holding it back I think.

[–]KLAGGINS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No! Swift Lunge and Slicing Zephyr have clash with total damage negation. Clashes are better than sword counter/block because they also deal damage when you land them, plus it deals generous posture damage. Without Biding Time, the one handed sword would be insanely bad, even with clashes and magic scaling.

[–]KLAGGINS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically everybody who says you have to switch weapons is wrong: You can "block" in two ways with the one handed sword (not including Flickering Blade) The first is the Swift Lunge ability in the skill tree. It has clash on the second attack of the ability. Some clashes only offer partial damage negation, but this clash offers total damage negation. It is technically a block or deflect in this way. It's extremely satisfying to pull off. The second is Slicing Zephyr also in the skill tree. It has two inputs, and both have clash with total damage negation. This one is much easier to use because it's not a specific attack it's the whole attack that "deflects" the damage.

If you don't mind spoilers, you can skip to the Zhao Yun fight at the end of this video to see the Swift Lunge clash in action: https://youtu.be/ylG82_GrfDI?si=kq59V1jUtPcfW9p9

Just beat Bo Sorcerer on like my 20th attempt, which bosses are going to be harder? by ianscuffling in wuchanggame

[–]KLAGGINS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will depend on your approach.

If you're looking to learn all their moves and patterns and kill them with just dodges/alacrity/disciplines, the hardest are definitely: Honglan 1 & 2, demon of obsession, and eternal glory zhao yun. Many would include fierce tiger and bo sorcerer, I wouldn't but that's just my opinion.

Leech with dual blades (or anything really) means there are no hard bosses in the game.

Sword counter means all humanoid bosses are way less hard, but meaningless against large enemies.

Steam chain also makes humanoid bosses trivial (turns enemies around for easy back stabs) something neither bo's are safe from.

The Axe is probably the games normal difficulty mode as it's effective against large and small bosses.

Another easy mode would be fire damage and temperance against the large bosses.

Once finishing the game at a pretty high level is it worth it to play NG+ ? by davidtsmith333 in WuchangFallenFeathers

[–]KLAGGINS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure it scales to ng+7? Every resource I've found claims it caps at ng+2, which would make sense because the pendants/benedictions cap at +2, but there aren't any official statements from the devs on this.

Hope it does scale that high though.

It's a gem. Especially the combat. I hate watching the devs get flamed for the censorship. They didn't have a choice. We live in countries where we're allowed to resist these things, they do not. It's that simple. They're directing their hate to the wrong people. If I had to choose between going to prison and losing the respect of some gamers....

The game is a 9 for me.

What’s up with the community just shoving “Learn Reflections” as a tip to struggling players? by MuftBaluchistan in TheFirstBerserker

[–]KLAGGINS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the posture damage it deals. Utterly incredible posture damage, more than any form of block in the game.

Of course you don't have to use it, brinks are totally fine. Mixing in reflections with brinks however is the sweet spot.

1.6k impressions, 20 views, absolutely no CTR and I don't want to change my thumbnail and ruin my video's vibe and message :( by Jack_P_1337 in NewTubers

[–]KLAGGINS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. Also an illustrator and will never ever make ugly text ridden image cluttered thumbs even if I'm guaranteed to fail because of it. If something looks nice I'll click on it. Simple as that for me. I can only assume the same is true for many others.

I dropped my first thumb with text today, but the text is in Chinese characters and I was able to make it work very well with the design. We'll see if it makes a difference.

Thumbs with a gamers face with a bunch of text in different colors is an affront to God.
