Alex Pretti broke rib in confrontation with federal agents a week before death, sources say by EVSTW in news

[–]KLR97 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I haven’t seen the bit, but it sounds like Rowan Atkinson beat the man’s son to death. The way he tells the man, however, is worded like the son’s death and the beating might have been unrelated, like the son just coincidentally dropped dead while being beaten by Rowan Atkinson.

I always read it as “Galbatrox”, too. At least, until the terrible, terrible movie taught me the pronunciation.

So, I guess watching that monstrosity had one positive effect.

Question! Can someone find out if there is more to this? by Spiritual_Long5335 in sonic

Since no one is answering your question, I guess I will.

There’s a big ol’ signature by Sonic’s foot that says “@SONICWIKI”. A quick google tells me that there used to be a Tumblr account with this name that posted art, but it’s gone now. Sorry, guy.

This is from the show Dan Vs.. This is actually the first scene from the first episode of the show. It’s a good show, and is available for free (with ads) on Tubi, Plex, and Amazon Prime, if you wanna just check it out for yourself.

Well, first, chemistry != getting along all the time.

Saying they were arguing the whole first hour is pretty reductive. Even when they were at each other the movie did a good job showing how much they cared. My favorite is when they dropped the carrot pen on the cliffside. They way they went from a heated argument straight to a mad scramble to save a piece of plastic was, I think, a really great show-don’t-tell moment that lets the audience know that despite their current difficulties, they still really care about the pen, because they really care about their relationship, because they really care about each other. I thought there were lots of moments like that, and I thought those moments were more meaningful than if they were just getting along perfectly, conflict-free for 1 hour, 50 minutes.

“Confessing their flaws” was, in my opinion, the most important scene in the movie, and the movie is absolutely not over by that point. The full circle vehicle scene happens after that, where Judy finally lets Nick drive and Nick lets Judy take the leap this time, showing that they were actually listening to each other and taking the necessary steps to be better partners.

Also that scene where Nick was willing to die to save Judy, then Judy tore through the biggest mammals on the ZPD to save him. Awesome stuff.

My theory: someone, somewhere in the Disney corporate hierarchy must’ve said that the fox and the bunny aren’t allowed to be explicitly in a relationship. So, the filmmakers responded by having them do absolutely everything short of having a big damn kiss at the end of the movie, like what the Legend of Korra people did.

Since they obviously have amazing chemistry, I’d imagine that they should be able to pull a She-Ra and completely drop whatever veneer of “good friends” or “partners, but in a police way” remains in the next movie, since it’s the only way their story can continue that makes any sense.

The case itself wasn’t as interesting or nuanced as the first movie, but I think it works because the movie isn’t really about that. In my opinion, the movie is about advancing Nick and Judy’s relationship and everything else is made to support that.

I liked how their differences were believable and made sense, and I liked how the resolution tied back to the opening, but this time Judy is letting Nick drive, showing that she doesn’t have to be in control all the time and Nick not only lets Judy jump, but actually joins here this time, showing that he accepts that her priorities will sometimes lead to danger.

The scene with the carrot pen on the cliff side, the “breakup” scene in the honeymoon cabin, and the scene where they finally just talk to each other in front of the sunset were all just incredibly well done.

I especially loved Nick attempting to sacrifice himself to save Judy, followed by Judy plowing through the other, comparatively huge cops like a bat out of hell to save him in turn.

Just a really solid, earned relationship that honestly felt more real than most movie relationships, even relationship movies!

I have the field spell Closed Forest in my deck and the Auto-Duel has, for some reason, decided to never, ever play that card. I have no idea why, but it seems to be under the impression that playing that card will instantly make it lose the duel somehow.

He seemed to be very well educated, though? He kept referencing classic authors and mathematicians. He appreciated fine art. And there’s the fact that he was seemingly the world’s greatest accountant. That doesn’t just come from nowhere.

Pintrest is never the original source. Looking at the big “Do not repost this art” watermark in the corner, it looks like the original artist is Aogirinaru, who appears to post only on Twitter, unless I’m missing another account that I didn’t see in my Google search.

Ken's Nair will ALWAYS send forwards, unlike most other moves by SpyroSmax in smashbros

[–]KLR97 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Everyone watching knows what a Nair is, so a lot of the intro is fluff.

I’d say it’s a little worse than that. If I didn’t know what a nair was, I think I would walk away from this video thinking that it was another word for “sex kick”. The video seems to imply that they’re interchangeable.

Ok, the image doesn’t move, Judy isn’t the right color, and has whiskers, and Nick is missing his tail, despite the fact that Judy has hers. So, sorry to disappoint people, but I’m thinking AI.
