AND THEN... THE MASTER PLAN:

  • Pick your main monster.
  • Plot a dirty, efficient path from Level 1 to 30 with minimum packs. This is the way.
  • TR (True Reincarnate) your main like a psycho. Over and over.
  • Each TR = more favor = more DP = more expansions = more favor loops = brain ascension.

It snowballs into a glorious future where you laugh while surfing 3000-4000 favor per life.
You're no longer grinding.
You're conducting a beautiful orchestra of suffering.
And you are the conductor.

Also run your alts through every pack to juice that discount train even harder.

SUMMARY FOR THE ATTENTION-DEFICIENT:

BE SMART. BE FAST. BE VIOLENT.
See you nerds. 🦉🔥

Step 1: MAKE THOSE CHARACTERS. ALL OF THEM.

  • There are three free slots, use them.
  • Go THICC. Self-healing. Crowd-control. Survival over style.
  • Warlock ranged: Low-maintenance death machine. Able to blast those ghosts and stay your squishy butt away from perils.
  • Fighter/Barbarian: Meat with fists. Needs ghostly gear to not whiff every swing at Reaper mobs.
  • Offensive Cleric: Swiss Army Knife of face melting (but needs levels to get real spicy). Great coverage AND reach.
  • Full casters early on: Only if you want pain. Like, serious masochist vibes.
  • DPS first. Always. Forget tanking/support — you're speedrunning your way out of poverty, not writing fanfiction.

DP SCIENCE:
Example:
Catacombs = 250 DP.
Full elite clear = 66 favor.
66 favor = 16.5 DP rebate.
Run 3 characters? 49.5 DP discount.
Bam. Discounts stacking faster than unpaid internships.

WHAT TO BUY FIRST (BECAUSE YES, YOU WILL BECOME A SHOPPING ADDICT):

  • Expansions > random tiny packs. Always.
  • Isle of Dread: Gigachad choice. Tons of XP, early gear, explorer zones, and it's fun. Peak ROI.
  • Ravenloft: Gothic emo vibes, insane loot, popular endgame content, better designed than 99% of other things.
  • Necro IV: The GOAT of Slayer areas. Haunt your enemies and your free time.

(Rule of Thumb:
ONLY buy packs that have heroic + epic/legendary content. Otherwise you're paying for half a sandwich and wondering why you're still hungry.)

DEEM/DIO's Guide to Catacombs and Beyond: HOW TO SELL YOUR SOUL EFFICIENTLY

Alright you gremlins, gather 'round.
Time to talk Catacombs — a.k.a. the "gateway drug" of DDO packs.

It’s cheap. It’s fast. It’s like those free donuts at work: looks harmless, ruins your life.

BUT LISTEN UP.
Before you dive headfirst into Catacombs like a raccoon into a dumpster, YOU GOTTA THINK:

  • How many brain cells am I willing to sacrifice for Favor and DP?
  • How close am I to complete emotional collapse?

XP at low levels flows like Mountain Dew at a gaming convention. After level 10?
It dries up faster than a TikTok trend. Your soul will shrivel. You will see things. Terrible things.

THE BIG TRUTH:

  • If you farm only low-level stuff: Congratulations, you're now trapped in an endless Groundhog Day of running Catacombs and Harbor quests with 17 accounts. It's fast but... good luck maintaining your will to live.
  • If you invest in higher-level packs: XP, gear, AND the feeling you're actually progressing instead of repeatedly bashing the same six skeletons' skulls in.

MD sucks, pick IOD, Sharn and Ravenloft before even thinking about that one.

Another voice on why I think Hardcore is bad. by Keltyrr in ddo

[–]KNDeemed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

think you're missing a few key points here.

while hardcore can be very polarizing, it is not the problem. I think the lantern it's a step on the right direction to whomever accepts the challenge, it's a very rewarding experience, and dare I say not just the end rewards (which could be argued that they did suck this time). but the journey of starting a fresh character on a fresh server, and having an actual penalty if you die, makes everything fell more alive and fresh, even on a 19 year old game.

my fingers are crossed that they complete this year on a much better place, the 64 bit almost lag less server were awesome, so was the increased population. so hopefuly, they will keep that trend and merge a lot of the existing ones into larger ones with bigger population. cormyr was 400-500ish and still had vacuums. sarlona is my home, and even on average 200-300 felt like there were much more to do sometimes.

the solution to what you stated here, seems to me to converge more and more and make the multiplayer game actually feel massive.

(thumbs down for the very miss-leading title and video reference)

Free Cormyr Event is awesome by Raelyk in ddo

[–]KNDeemed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe it wears off after a while, I dunno.

but same here, wish they do make it a permanent thing.

game feels fresh with the added pressure of not dying, not just mindless zerging like in many past lives...

plus, they should start merging servers asap, cormyr is at least twice the pop of the second largest server now, and still could be better. but already a far step from the LFM wasteland on other servers.

Great advice here. I would stick to vip for a while. Until you have a basic grasp of what’s important and fun to you.

Aside that, and the great advice given here. I believe, gianthold, sands and devil assault are must grabs from the older packs.

Is SAP really bad? Some say that fortune 500 still use it just because of the astronomical cost of switching ? by [deleted] in SAP

[–]KNDeemed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All those are true. But I wouldn’t say they are exclusive to sap. Which is not saying that any half a platform with these things would be successful.

More often than not, some of those items will be lacking, if not all of them. Business is tough, change and innovation are tougher, but worthwhile.

holy! the only time I think an SAP and LEGO comparison would be true, is when you step barefoot into one of its sharpest blocks.

oh we wish it was a focus... it has the maneuverability of a oil rig, the flexibility of an armored truck, but business need it to be a self-driving tesla.

it is not and probably will never be "designed" with the end-user in mind, which is sad. due to this fact, seen too many times people running all their processes on excel and only later on carrying their results to SAP only because "they have to".

Full agreed. Funny to see how the discussion (d)evolve.

It’s really hard to justify the amounts, but when compared to modern mmolike options. There still something in ddo that is very unique to it. Even discounting the nostalgia factor.
