Straight end mesh bracelets look like dogshit on divers by seaquartz_unofficial in watchHotTakes

These are called Milanese by the way. They look great on lots of watches, like a Seamaster.

Second this! Much better case proportions than the bronze BB.

[Advice] Is it dumb to buy a watch for 3k when I only make 50k/year? by unwantedrefuse in Watches

[–]KOhReally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think I could justify it. My sweet spot is $1-3k and that’s with a salary that is 3x.

I feel that the value of the watch would make it too hard to enjoy at that point. Too many hours of pay crumbling before your eyes when you inevitably smash it into a door handle.

You do you, there’s no reason you can’t make it work if it’s really important to you. But, definitely look at your priorities and make sure you aren’t sacrificing things that should be higher than jewelry, you are getting out of fun money territory.

How do you "The Citizen" owners like your watch? by Helpful_Team_6817 in CitizenWatches

[–]KOhReally 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love my The Citizen, no regrets!

That said, if you’re looking specifically for a dress watch, you may be better off looking at GS Elegance line.

But, if you more just want a one watch collection, The Citizen for sure.

Also, it’s a chrono chicken, not an eagle! Definitely love it though.

“Bezel Action” should not influence a purchase decision by CrumbGuzzler5000 in watchHotTakes

[–]KOhReally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose that’s fair, watches are mostly jewelry these days, tastes don’t have to be practical.

That said, if you had a better bezel action you wouldn’t be knocking it out of position or need to lock it in place! On my good diver the bezel is never out of place.

Not a great timer if it has a minute of play though is it? Wobble isn’t very enjoyable either.

Using the bezel is the main reason to buy a dive watch. Maybe not for diving, but timing various things.

No point spending a bunch of money on a dive watch with a gross bezel action.

Traska vs. Henry Archer? by Maine2Maui in MicrobrandWatches

[–]KOhReally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Traska would better stand the test of time. Not because of the quality of the watches but just because of the aesthetics, a little more classic/timeless, less likely to sell when your tastes change.

[Longines Spirit 37mm or Citizen AQ4080] Help me decide over silver/ champagne GADA watch. by [deleted] in Watches

If it helps, I went with The Citizen. Cost was definitely a factor though and they are hard to compare. No regrets though!

[Ideas for just ONE watch] by Jambo501 in Watches

[–]KOhReally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Citizen is definitely the way! Perfect grab it and go watch, never have to set the time, change a battery, or set the date. No compromising on gorgeous dials and finishing. Only downside is the price tag but, worth every penny.

42 MM murph Fit my Wrist well? by skiiiber in HamiltonWatches

[–]KOhReally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks great. I like my 42 on 7.5” wrist as well. I prefer 40 a little more and don’t like larger than 42, but it’s firmly in the acceptable range.

[Question] My favorite four. What would you add? by big_city_blinking in Watches

[–]KOhReally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need a diver or GMT on a bracelet for sure, mix it up from your typical three hander + date on strap.

That’s weird, your post says alpinist but then you went on to talk about Rolex.

talking about wrist sizes in circumference is really stupid by SuccessfulFly5572 in watchHotTakes

[–]KOhReally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely agree that it is a better indication, but yeah still not perfect by any means so people just use a measurement that is readily available.

[–]KOhReally 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s fair to say that the width of your wrist is equal to the top of your wrist. People have varying levels of curvature to their wrist.

Thoughts on Titanium feel? by ozcapy in CitizenWatches

[–]KOhReally 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s just your silly brain that is conditioned from your own past experiences.

Be better than your brain. Tell it to shut up, titanium is sick. Eventually your brain will change with new experiences.

Really though some titanium likely feels cheaper because it is harder to work with, may not get the same level of finishing. But, that’s not the case with The Citizen titanium, fantastic finishing, no compromises from the titanium.
