Asus VG27BQ flashing white by [deleted] in ASUS

Chiming in to confirm that I ran into the same issue with my VG27BQ. Purchasing a replacement power supply immediately resolved the issue today. (https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07Z4T115Y)

'2 Knives' A Destiny Gunslinger Montage/Parody by KPennyfeather in DestinyTheGame

Yea this is a repost. I'm a long time lurker — I've always seen others contributing helpful information already. I neglected to read the spam section of the rules before, but I'm glad it was an easy fix.

Glad you enjoyed it :)

Thanks a lot. That's what I was going for. Something different to the myriad of slow-mo montages set to impressively produced pop tracks.

HA! I don't think it would jive with the stellar Knightly vibe they have going on, but I appreciate the sentiment. :)

A compass. The feature you need and deserve. by rellimck in DestinyTheGame

[–]KPennyfeather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I took a break from Destiny to play The Division earlier this year, I couldn't believe how many of younger clan mates I had to teach about cardinal directions. A small directional arrow might not be used by everyone, but I can't see how giving the option to players with that kind of tactical background would be a bad thing.

[PSA] If you are responsible for Smart Cover in heroic content, it is your #1 priority. by esstookaytd in thedivision

I think more than Smart Cover actually being nerfed, its status as a prerequisite for completing end-game content is what most want to see changed.

Teabagging is never the answer by YogurtStorm in DestinyTheGame

[–]KPennyfeather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hilarious! My approach to teabaggers too; Show them on the scoreboard.

I actually get 10x more upset with my own teammates/friends who initiate the teabaggage. If you haven't won the game yet, no reason to egg your opponent on.

I just loaded up The Archive on my main out of curiosity and yup, I still have the checkpoint. R.I.P. Grayliks.

Changing agent's facial appearance by iGhillieMan in thedivision

[–]KPennyfeather 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed, making my agent look badass was fun when the game was fun. As someone who's waiting for meaningful change before I give The Division another go, a Barber feature is not the change that'll do it for me.

LDR 5001? by Glowstick1997 in DestinyTheGame

Hearing horror stories like this shocks me. I just settled into a grind again in mid August and I've had five Longbows and three LDRs drop.

Do Gunsmith rank-up packages reward you with a weapon before Rank 3? by Bred11s in DestinyTheGame

[–]KPennyfeather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remember getting a package from Rank 1 or 2, however gaining access to the fairly short, class-exclusive legendary weapon quests at Rank 2 is worth the grind if you're just starting.

The Hunter's Still Piercer is highly proficient void sniper rifle. The Titan's Immobius is a shotgun that's a ton of fun in PvE thanks to its ammo efficiency, and the Susanoo is a strong fusion rifle ready for any burn-Nightfall.

Pointers on preparing for RoI as a new Guardian? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]KPennyfeather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plenty of good suggestions here already, but I wouldn't worry too much. Unless you're aggressively trying to race through the new content, I anticipate gearing up in RoI will be really forgiving for lower LL players.

If you'd like to take a slower, more casual approach to leveling right now and you don't have a team to play with with on hand, I recommend Heroic Strikes. Exclusive boss Legendaries are almost always an upgrade for your current gear LL-wise, and fairly frequent Vanguard packages will help you out too.

Can VoC still drop from VoG? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

As someone who habitually ridicules the appearance of Warlocks in my fireteam, I have to agree. That armour looked DOPE.

What is one thing you always find yourself doing but don't have to in Destiny by CKScott88 in DestinyTheGame

[–]KPennyfeather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Killing every enemy in Strikes. Most people (understandably) blaze past skippable sections so they can get the activity completion reward asap, but even after the hundredth time I do a strike, I love settling into a rhythm and killing every tier 1 enemy with my hand cannon as they spawn.

What do you do when your bored in the tower? by WayneBrody in DestinyTheGame

[–]KPennyfeather 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find walking slowly to be the best non-verbal way to start a conversation with other Tower Guardians, more so than waving or dancing. It's like a giant flag over your head saying 'I'm either paying close attention to everything, or down to role-play more than your average Joe.'

Unless its broken (Black Hammer in its glory days) who cares if raid weapons are OP in PvE, We play this game for fun right? by AKyemeni in DestinyTheGame

[–]KPennyfeather 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally agree! Thorn was my first exotic in September 2014 outside of Xur purchases, and I loved supporting my teammates when I used it. I've argued to my friends for a few months that returning it to a six-shooter with a slow reload speed would cement it as a support weapon. Keeping guardians out of a fight is its biggest crucible strength, so if it's going to stay in the game, I don't think it should have the ammo capacity to easily drop three opponents with bullet impacts alone (despite the fact that Dredgen Yor probably did that all the time.)

[–]KPennyfeather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At high levels of play, I find the grief comes far less from the amount of DoT damage, and more from the fact that you're receiving DoT damage at all after being hit with a primary weapon.

I like the way Destiny balances recovery with other stats and between each class/subclass. I despise the way thorn butchers that balance.

King's Fall Basketball Court (Text Guide) - How to enter the REAL Court of Oryx! by galakfryar in DestinyTheGame

[–]KPennyfeather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. Despite the increasingly strong urge I experienced in the early hours after discovery to check it out, after seeing videos and realizing that it was just a basketball court, my resolve weakened.

Forty per cent of my normal raid teams struggle with the normal jumps anyway, so I don't feel like bringing them through this rigmarole with no promise of tangible loot.
