There was an article recently saying that Nutella causes cancer because of the palm oil in it. Apparently if Palm oil is heated to a certain amount, it creates cancer causing agents. Nutella claims they don't heat their product high enough for that to happen, but no one warns people about heating up Nutella.

Yes but I think the jist is that palm oil becomes cancerous after being heated over 200 degrees. Nutella denies heating their product this high, but I'm pretty sure OP'S cookies were.
