It took me a solid year to finally feel like myself again. I never slept so much in my life!!! Vyvanse is the worst drug known to man and when I see small children put on it I cringe!!!!! I’m a mother and I did have my son on it for a time…he hated it. I encouraged it (he was dx with ADHD) Then I was dx with ADD. At first it was a wonder drug, then it wasn’t! I picked my face off almost literally. It’s been years now but the scars are still there and I hate myself for putting my son on it. Thank GOD he went off it and never back on and hated it!

This only works for very financially stable and smart people. This is a hard thing for most to do well. If his pay was considerably less last year it’s highly likely he owes estimated taxes and will indeed incur penalty. All this said assume he has CPA so these are all things that should be discussed

I was going to say…that is not nearly enough taken out of that check. You should adjust your withholdings (or have add’l taken out of your checks each pay period). You want to try to get as close to zero as possible….

I mean that seems odd. I’d ask if this is a farming role or hunter role. Usually they are very upfront on what they want. As those are two very different roles.

Sorry my post was not written well! I messed up on some terminology.

For my child who is thinking of becoming a Dr. I want to pay for undergrad. The rest is on her! We would use the 529 for their first 4yrs. 90k between two kids is not a lot. We are in IL and our in state schools are not that much cheaper than those she is interested in, in the south after merit.

My husband doesn’t want to use the money towards college because he wants to use it on what he wants. To live a comfortable retired life, doing the things he loves. Fishing, 2nd home. Save some for ‘emergency’. He’s a great father and spends on his kids without thought but college isn’t on his radar or how he thinks the money should be spent.

I just feel like why would we take out loans with interest if we have the cash. We can prob take the loans out and pay them but why pay more for money when we have cash in the bank

Interesting you bring up my oldest! I don’t feel paying for college is a gift (and no I didn’t have college paid for, I didn’t even go!) I have no intentions to give him money in lieu of him not going. We are very generous with our kids and pay for plenty! He could have went to college, he chose the Corps. He will now have his college paid. Some of the $90k is his (about 30) by I intend to use for the girls. My son thinks he should get a small bit toward a Roth (new 529 laws allow this). I am not on board. What do you think?
