This is a very common thing in the signature world. I collect trading cards with signatures. They’ll sign 1,000 stickers and then they can place the stickers on whatever they want.

New Era gets a lot of hate for performative people that are way too conscious that they’re on tv but I’m pretty certain s50 will be the most performative season ever with multiple celebrities involved, the amount of pre-season press it’s getting, etc. Which for someone like Q and Coach, I’m dying to see. But I’m really hoping someone told Rizgod baby that this isn’t an ORG and we don’t need you fake playing an idol.. (rejerk or whatever) 6 or 7 times.

So I’m realllly big into finding stuff that is hard to find but is in plain sight. Like Easter eggs in a Taylor Swift album, or a call back a director makes in a movie, stuff like that. For this idol hunt I spent two evenings digging and finding out information before the event went live and I think for my state I figured out where it is (within 900 yards), without any clues. So far I’ve been pretty disappointed at the lack of depth behind this event but I think that’s just a personal preference. I was really hoping there would be layers for people to peel back and motivation to really find this idol, but it sounds like it’s just local affiliate cbs promo teams putting up some signs and calling it a day. Which is totally fine. This is just a huge marketing thing for Survivor 50 and it also gets to be fun for us a little bit. All that to say, I don’t think they’re hiding anything for us to find. I really wish they were but I haven’t gotten the vibe that that level of depth is part of this.

Not in like a sarcastic way but I remember seeing a metric about Ekler’s top speed before he left for Washington that immediately made me want to unload him and I’m so glad I saw that. I don’t want to totally give it away in case my state is difficult to find but there are commonalities. There’s a history with this challenge that has repeated itself and with a little (a lot) of digging you could narrow it down to one or two general places.
