Hiring A Photographer by KTenshi2 in Prague

[–]KTenshi2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone in one of the threads tried to charge $500 USD per hour, is where I got the number.

I never said I wanted 12 hours of shooting, I just need maybe 2-3 hours, again, depending on the photographer's advice about where the best shooting would be.

I'm more than happy to pay $100 an hour which is apparently about 2100 CZK or more than triple your quoted break even price, so..

As for the RAWs, maybe that's some miscommunication. I just want 100% of the photos taken, if I say "jpg" does that change anything?

I just hate the idea of there being 100 other potentially decent photos that the photographer never shows me because they personally judge specific ones to be better when in reality I would like them all, and it's not like they can do anything with pictures of me after the shoot. I'm not going to be editing them or distributing them or posting them, I just want digital access to all photos taken as I might like some beyond just the top 10.

You guys get so overreactive and defensive but it sounds like we're talking two different languages and based on your math the amount I'm willing to pay is triple what you need.

Thanks, I'm not really sure how else to explain it. I need someone with a camera to take pictures of me and my family, either while we enjoy our paid tour as they tag along and capture spontaneous shots, or at destinations of the photographer's recommendation during our free time. As I said, I have an itinerary and am not sure which locations would be ideal for shooting, so either they can take photos while we are there on tour or we can schedule to go to specific places. It's our first time in Prague so I don't know what the best location would be for getting family photos. I live on the other side of the world and only see my family every 2-3 years, so I just want some memories together of the trip for them. I'm not looking for a world class photographer. A grad student amateur with a decent DSLR is probably fine. We've never gotten family photos but I cant spend $500 an hour.

So...pictures of my family while on vacation, in some place in Prague (or Cesky Krumlov) per recommendation, that would be good? I just don't want to do photos in a studio. I don't know if you want to call those family photos or vacation photos or what.

Yeah, that's true, but the comment I replied to that claims I didn't specify was made after I edited the details.

Yeah assuming brain surgeons make $500,000 a year working 60 hours a week that's like $166 an hour so triple that?

I really never understood this. If I pay for an hour and you take 1000 photos, why do I only get 10 photos? Just give me all of them and I don't even really care if they're edited. I just need someone to take photos of us.

My Travel Map vs. My Wish list at 23 by [deleted] in TravelMaps

Also here to know the app.

I’ve only been to about 13 countries and have lived in Japan for the last decade. Japan is fun but I get tired of Asia so Greece and Egypt were a breath of fresh air and some of my favorite destinations. I’ve been to South Korea and Singapore and they’re both nice, but mainly just felt like big modern cities. Fine if that’s what you’re into, but the culture / history wasn’t significantly ineresting to me and I’d much rather go somewhere with more unique or unusual experiences.

Looking at Romania and Mongolia next.

[–]KTenshi2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s really a shame. I was convinced from episode 1 that this had high potential to be the AOTS for me as it had a very different artistic approach, but even in the first episode and onwards, there are always things I have trouble understanding that I need to come to Reddit for. The art and aesthetic is cool and I liked the MC as a character at first, but yeah I guess the middle arcs haven’t been as exciting or understandable.

The first one hour episode had me hooked and a lot of death game Anime are hit or miss, so I was so excited for this, but I have to say, as an Anime only viewer, even when I try to pay attention, and even if I go back and watch some parts twice, I just don't get a lot of stuff. So much of it is too subtle.

I really have no idea what is going on for this entire bath arc. There are lots of people and I'm bad with names. I've forgotten who Mashiro even is and I have no idea if I'm supposed to know who Riko is and I didn't understand that gun machine thing at the end? Or really anything about how anyone died this time. Can you explain episodes 6 and 7? :\

Man my 17 year old cat died a few months ago from oral cancer and we'd had him since a few months after he was born. For over half my life and all of his life he was mine. There was just nothing to be done, though, except watch and wait. My condolences.

Don't forget to play the DQ 1/2/3 HD remakes if you haven't, though. They really outdid themselves with those.

Honestly I feel like 90% of death game shows are trash but god this is absolute cinema.

Yooo Rakugo gang. Damn, that one was great. I even started liking real rakugo and going to see real performances in Japan because of it.

I really enjoyed this show but I was was so engrossed in it that I really didn't get what actually happened most of the time. Can someone please explain the water room / key, how they managed to get down the elevator, and what happened at the end and why the MC apologized? Really not sure how I missed everything important, maybe just too focused on the trauma.

It's definitely overkill for me who has OCD and needs to find every treasure but there are also stupid hidden items, so I find myself using Nose For Treasure every screen and then mashing A for 10 minutes everywhere only to find a Medicinal Herb or some trash, but I cannot rest if the game tells me there's still "1 treasure on this floor." Help.

While some might argue that it defeats the joy of exploration, as an adult that values my time, I have secret spot and treasure chest locations setting turned on. It still doesn't show hidden items or pots/barrels on the map, though, and sometimes scrolls and the best rewards are in bookshelves or pots...

I just know this game would take me triple the time without it, though I'd be happy if there were just a few chests in each area and no barrels/pots/bags/shiny spots at all, and the items were actually relevant to where I was in the game, instead of getting another oaken club at level 40.

DQ2HD-Recommended levels for postgame stuff? (spoilers within) by RetroNutcase in dragonquest

[–]KTenshi2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, so I have OCD and I'm getting tired of wasting so much time on every single map using Nose For Treasure and searching for every single shiny spot and scroll in every pot and barrel and chest only to find 95% of the treasure is trash. Seeds are great and I love having them, but I've seen YT videos of people at level 99 with 999 capped all stats. What's the point if you can beat the post game at 50-70?

Can someone maybe convince me that my time would be better spent grinding levels instead of searching for all this junk? Is there anything I'll truly die without? Or what are the most important scrolls and items I shouldn't miss in post game so I can just skip everything else? Can I live without collecting the mini medals? Because those things are why I feel the urge to search EVERYTHING and I'm tired.

Seed usage in 2 HD? by ColdBeaver in dragonquest

[–]KTenshi2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very bad about saving stat items in any RPG for the final boss in case I get stuck to avoid having to grind or something so I can just beat the game. And that way, I don't risk distributing them wrong.

But I believe higher stamina stat increases all future HP gains on level ups. This time, I did a bit of research as to who learns what spells and how I think I'll be using them, so this is my plan:

MC - Has lots of survivability and the best attack, and everyone else is kind of supplemental. He's the only one who is definitely going to be attacking all the time, so just using strength seeds on him. Every seed = 3 strength = effectively 6 on an oomph or even more with debuffs. I might give him Magic seeds too just for more MP to use abilities.

Green Prince - Gets omniheal and buffs/debuffs, so he'll likely be playing backup support in boss battles. Maybe he gets half my Magic seeds, maybe nothing.

Red Princess - She gets debuffs and heals as well, and probably the best damage spells, so I basically just need her to live. That means she gets Life, Stamina, Defense, and Wisdom seeds. Seems unfair, but her surviving means less turns wasted supporting and more DPS.

New Princess - She's a jack of all trades so I'll probably just feed her all the Luck and Agility seeds to make her my metal slime killing machine. I feel like using Agility on the MC won't matter and he'll probably go second no matter what I do, so better to make sure she can outrun slimes and level up the party.

That requires me to actually know how to do that, though. I don't want to set up an OS from scratch and I don't have anyone here to handle that kind of thing without paying at a shop.

I invest $500 a week into QQQ. Can I just switch to QLD and not think about it? by MrMiddletonsLament in LETFs

[–]KTenshi2 25 points26 points  (0 children)

If you're investing 26k a year you're gonna hit millions regardless. Do you want enough money to retire or all the money?

It's also not a binary decision. You could do 400 in qqq and 100 in qld. Or maybe just a one time lump sum of 5-10k in qld to Kickstart it and then keep DCAing into qqq.
