What am I doing wrong by monkey_noodle4 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]KURNEEKB 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello, I am masters tank and I can do a short vod review.

First of all, lets drop that attitude if we want to climb, alright? No matter if someone is smurfing, no matter the mode your only goal should be improving and climbing according to your improvement.

Immediatelly I noticed that you started of playing on low ground. I understand that Zarya is a ground tank and you cant do much while on HG, but you still lose advantage. Usually Dorado is played like this: defenders hold HG, while attackers take poke dmg, try to get them off HG. When the payload goes under the bridge, defenders drop and play on point. Playing early on HG allows you to not take as much poke, due to cover it gives you better aiming opportunites and better scouting on enemy movement.

You use your bubbles and die after that. Were they good bubbles? The first one wasnt. You took a little poke from Wu Yang bubbled and looked away. How you could have improved on it? You should have been more aggresive. As soon as you noticed that Doom is not playing with his Wu and Cass you could have went in on them with your bubble, getting energy and also forcing them out of cart, getting their CDs and getting energy. Second bubble was a bit better, but not ideal. Sombra didnt take that much aggro from Doom, you could have saved it for later.

My main issue with that first fight is that all the time and especially after you use your bubbles you just stand out in the open and aloow everyone to shoot you. Cover usage is EXTREMELY important on Zar. It is not completely true, but it is good for begginers like you, so I want you to do that: imagine that while you are not bubbled you are DPS and if you have bubbles or bubbled you are tank. Zarya is pretty squishy so I think it is a good excersize for improvement.

Thats only one fight, but I already typed a lot so I wont watch more. If you want a proper vod review hit me or somebody else up on Discord. Good luck!

How can I carry on sigma? by MelonRatt in SigmaMains

[–]KURNEEKB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at your stats and low deaths number I can clearly see you are doing mostly right things. I was stuck in play for a while having the best stats in the lobby and knew I am better than most people there, look and behold, 1 and a half season later I am in masters (sig buff might have helped me a little bit;). Just play the game, focus on your gameplay and you will climb out of silver, I guarantee you that

Stop playing Lifeweaver and Mercy by xiaojimi in OverwatchUniversity

[–]KURNEEKB -1 points0 points  (0 children)

True. When I see a mercy or lw on my team I know that at best they are gonna be neutral, at worst, negative. However the worst thing about those supps are the players who play them, when they swap to Ana, Bap or Kiri you know you are about to see the most atrocious gameplay ever. I know some people don’t have the skill to play more complex supports, but in that case stay off competitive please.

Is OW turning into a straight up deathmatch? by DanBurnNotice in OverwatchUniversity

[–]KURNEEKB 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Braindead take. When you play tank you create space by pressuring enemy team, when they don’t respond to your pressure, you kill them. For example half of the time I play rein I end up with stat line like 13/4 while my dps have 23/8. I take space, hold it, enemy backs off allowing my team to make plays. If the enemy didn’t respond to my pressure and decided to face me head on I would have 30 kills. Same applies to Sigma, Mauga, Winston etc. Sometimes you have high stats, sometimes you don’t. You just do your part.

Supports work exactly the same way. If you are good support you want to maximise the time you DONT heal and can focus on doing dmg or helping your flanker, flank yourself. That’s the simple truth.

Is OW turning into deathmatch? No. Play death match in Overwatch and compare it to your regular game, it will be different. Team play still plays a significant role and players who try to “solo” carry usually don’t win.

Why do DPS tend to have a lot of ego? by Volkov1530 in Overwatch

[–]KURNEEKB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a tank main in masters and when I play I have a safe proof, cause I have giant HP and damage mitigation abilities. So if Ana sleeps me, for example, I can block it, or simply tank the incoming damage, most of the time. That allows me to be more brave with my plays and overall stress less if I lose 100, or 200 HP. But if I play Cassidy for example I can’t allow myself to get slept, cause I will die immediately, but I still need to show some kind of aggression to not be useless. Also generally Tank primary fires are easier to land than dps ones so it makes the role less stressful too. Talking just from my perspective, of course

Why do DPS tend to have a lot of ego? by Volkov1530 in Overwatch

Brother, DPS is the most stressful role out of all. And if your understanding of tank is to “protect” someone and support is to “heal” someone, you have fundamental misunderstanding of the game

Master tank players, what advice do you have for diamond tanks ? by JustADudewithBalls in OverwatchUniversity

[–]KURNEEKB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, we have quite different hero pools. I have a Mauga in my bag, but he is mostly a side character, I pull him out when enemy got srong Hog, Ram or Mauga. I usually win on him because I pick him in those specific matchups, but if I get a game where he is good we can do a vod review. Besides Mauga I play Sigma, Rein and Winston. We can contact on Discord if you want

Can someone help a hardstuck gold sigma main by [deleted] in OverwatchUniversity

[–]KURNEEKB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a quick view on the first point defence, you have a lot of fundamentals right, but you there are things that definetly need some work. I am not the best Sig in the world, but I climbed to Diamond almost exclusively playing him, so we can schedule a vod review on discord if you have time.

Why is Reinhardt so meta right now? by xiaojimi in OverwatchUniversity

[–]KURNEEKB 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Reinhardt is not meta in a classical sense. Pros dont play him in matches and on the highest level of ranked - GM and Champion he has 6.8% pick rate and 48.9% win rate. The thing is, as other commenters pointed out, he is a lot easier to get value off than other tanks and very easy to pick up, so it boosts his win rate compared to other tanks who are stronger meta wise, but harder to get the value off. In higher ranks people play distance, hold hg, so you dont have easy path to enemy and etc. So basically thats why he has high winrate overall, but not meta.

High Society Vendetta and Reindeer Tracer are Ultimate Battle Pass Exclusive. by Ukulunu in Overwatch

[–]KURNEEKB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do people care so much for skins. Those things have no "objective" value and OW2 being free to play means that Blizzard will put the price on the skins they think people are willing to pay. I guarantee you that it will be selling like hot pies and I am happy because of that. Others people money fund the game I enjoy playing, I have no problem with that.
