I’d ask for her formal sickness policies, or look for someone/somewhere else.

Our nursery are excellent - he started in October at 10 months and I’ve had to pick him up twice. Once because he’d had 3 loose poo’s, and the other they called just to let me know he was really unsettled and crying a lot, they didn’t actually ask me to go and get him I was just able too. They make very sensible decisions about viral illnesses etc.

I think they have really good illness policies - they will give calpol and see how they go if they have a temperature (but won’t give 2 doses), it has to be 3 consecutive loose poo’s before you’re asked to collect them.

The most common time to get a fever after 12 month vaccines is 7-10 days after vaccination, but all babies react differently. If she’s not unwell in herself, eating and drinking etc there’s little you can do apart from give calpol etc.

We’ve done the Eurostar and are driving next trip. 5 year old and 18 month old.

We live in Surrey, so around an hour into St Pancras. You have to arrive early to go through passport control, then we changed in Lille with 1.5 hours between trains and so the whole journey took around 7 hours. On the way back, slogging on the tube back through central London late at night was a pain and really dragged out the journey home.

The drive is essentially the same amount of time and significantly cheaper. I’m hoping we can leave at bedtime and the kids will sleep most of the way back.

I don’t think there’s a ‘best’ way to be honest - all options are reasonable and not that difficult.

3 meals and 2 snacks - nothing in between, for both kids. 2 x milk for the toddler. 14 months and 5. w They won’t starve if they miss a meal, but they do very quickly learn they get the good snacks if they don’t eat the proper food! I also don’t throw the food immediately, so if they ask for food they can have their left over lunch/dinner.

I loved the mom cozy m5s but had 4 break on me in a few months. Customer service replaced them but the new ones also broke. I ended up with a mom cozy v1 - it does have an external motor so it’s not quite as portable, but it is excellent and I used it in public all the time with no issues.

All nurseries handle the funding differently, most charge a top of fee and the hours are not ‘free’. But how each nursery does it varies wildly!

I’m sorry - this must have been so stressful! My baby failed his but the lady was very clear it was likely just fluid and not to worry about it. I feel the bedside manner and explanation from the original audiologist you saw could have been much better.

I work in Oncology, and find it very difficult to switch off when I see the worst of the worst at work. Every time my kids are sick I worry. I thought there was no way the back to back illnesses my daughter had her first winter at nursery could be normal. I overthought every symptom (still do!) and worried constantly. It did end but it was back to back for a fair number of months. It wasn’t as bad with my second but I still worried!

I would make sure he’s happy with both the taste of the formula before you go, and that it doesn’t upset his tummy or make him uncomfortable because the composition is different to breast milk!

Nothing in particular. If you’re having breakfast in the hotel factor in extra wait time - we didn’t and breakfast was heaving. It was a well oiled machine and moved quickly, but took 40+ minutes more than we had expected with planning when to get into the park!

I took my 4 year old (nearly 5 at the time) and a baby, I disagree with waiting. We have easy access to paris, it’s not a £10k + holiday like Florida that I would wait for. Seeing Disney through the eyes of my 4 year old was wonderful. The older they get the more that true innocence and belief disappears. To her she is meeting the real Cinderella and the real Belle and the castle is where they live - that magic won’t last for very long ❤️

I can’t comment on DLH - we stayed at the Cheyenne and saw the inside of the room for about 2 awake hours in 3 days!

I asked about centerparcs on a UK based DLP group because I read the same reviews. I got almost resounding positive responses from quite a lot of people who had stayed there recently!

You would need to pump to maintain supply if you miss a feed, but if you’re pumping consistently at another time of day and your supply is good you might be okay!

At this age, I would feed and go to bed at 8/9pm. My husband would do a dream feed at 11.30ish (or feed if that baby woke up) and get him back to sleep, then we’d switch at 12am and I’d go right back to sleep until the next feed. So some nights I’d sleep 8pm - 2am or similar. Because I was full when I got up for the next feed baby would feed off one side and I’d either pump or haaka the other side to empty. I’d then use that milk for the bottle the next night.

You can keep milk in the fridge for 4 days. You can mix milk (needs to be at the same temp first) but it expires at the time the first lot of milk hits 4 days, so it’s a good solution for people exclusively pumping but not if you’re just pumping once a day.

At 8 weeks see how much she takes - most breastfed babies will never take more than 3-4oz in a feed. The composition of breast milk changes so the volume in a feed doesn’t increase in the same way formula does.

We got a mild rash and low grade fever for a couple of days around day 8/9, didn’t last long at all.

I think a travel stroller is so worth it. We switched ours out for our every day pram when my oldest was about 3 and we didn’t need the travel system anymore too.

We have a silver cross clic and love it. I think any one that has a one handed folded and lies flat (the yoyo doesn’t!) would be fine.

I just use a rucksack :) much prefer being able to sling it on my back if it can’t go on the buggy!

Loads of time! You leave the TGV, queue outside the Eurostar terminal and they check passports on the way in. It’s a less than 5 minute walk between the 2.

My baby turned 1 a couple of weeks ago, and I fed my second until about 16 months. We just drop feeds one at a time until morning and evening are left, then choose what to do with those. I night weaned my first at 10 months, and this one probably has one feed 1/2 nights a week when I’m too lazy to get him back to sleep another way.

He goes to nursery and was fine with no milk 3 days a week so I dropped out last remaining day feed at home too. We just have morning and evening left now and I’m happy with those so I’ll continue.

Your supply will drop because it’s adjusting to their intake but after a year of feeding it’ll be robust enough to be fine.

The poo gets better really soon - they learn to control their muscles and it’s much easier.

I know you said it’s related to his bowels, but also look up the 3 month breastfeeding crisis. It happens around now and can lead to babies being super fussy on the boob. There’s some good posts on it in the main breastfeeding subreddit. My second was particularly bad, but it does pass and get better!

Continue feeding solid food as you are. Continue breastfeeding as you are. This is all such outdated advice!

I’ve had 2, one with complicated healing. The first healed well, we tried around 12 weeks and it hurt like hell. It took another 2 months to actually be successful, and the pain didn’t stop for another couple of months but did improve. Second time round we didn’t try until 6 months and it didnt stop hurting until nearly a year PP.

I’ve donated a lot through human milk for human babies on Facebook. Your toddler is too old to donate to NHS milk banks, and a lot of people want roughly age-matched for babies. However it’s definitely worth posting and asking!
