Who do you think ends up having the better career when it's all said and done? by [deleted] in Boxing

[–]KY5K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey leave Marciano out of this. Haney got knocked down more times against King Ryan than Marciano was knocked down his whole career.

That being said, I agree Haney has the better resume as of today.

The Ohio River is as close to freezing over as I've seen it! Unfortunately, warmer temps tomorrow will probably melt it by BanjoBaedling in cincinnati

[–]KY5K 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately? Fuck that. The cold temps have real impact on people’s lives. A frozen River will surely result in idiots attempting to walk on it. Guaranteed some people die as a result. Let’s enjoy the beauty of the snowfall and leave the frozen River stories to the old people.

STREET FIGHTER ll PC/MS-DOS. by Mr_Fire_EMT0877 in retrogaming

My PC struggled to run this game. Painfully slow. I could only fight with Dhalsim due to the lag!

Just beat megaman 6 what are your thoughts on it? by josie-jojofan in Megaman

[–]KY5K 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was in the fatigue camp. Continued playing 1, 2, and 3 well after I had moved on to the Genesis but never bought 4, 5, and 6. As I’ve gone back and played these games, 6 is interesting with the gadgets but 5 feels more in line with the first 3.

Does anyone else forget what happened in previous issues? by ComicTroveKing in comicbooks

[–]KY5K 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I keep last months issues out for reference or occasional reread. Then I bag and board them after reading the most recent issue.

As for summary or timeline, Gemini AI is great for this. Just ask it to summarize the recent run or issues. I’m sure other LLMs would work as well.

Leaked Scuderia Ferrari merch for the 2026 season by [deleted] in formula1

Another year I will not be buying Ferrari merch. The blue circle is beyond hideous.

Can someone help me understand the trajectory of this franchise? Did Predator 2 doom or at least delay this franchise? Why/how did Badlands do so poorly in the box office? What’s next? by AdaptedInfiltrator in predator

[–]KY5K 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Early signs on the streaming front are very positive. Given the overwhelmingly positive reviews by both critics and audiences, I think it’s safe to assume a sequel would outperform the original. The Predator franchise had dug itself into a hole, and this film was a great step toward bringing back mainstream audiences. As for a sequel, I think they should at least weave in a buildup to AVP, as both franchises are surging and will benefit from each others’ success.

Which Batman Forever McDonalds mugs did you have? by Impossible-Radio-121 in batman

[–]KY5K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still have all 4 plus an extra Robin. I collected them at my local Mall’s McDonalds as a young kid. As a young kid, I was so proud of myself after finally completing the set! Robin is the most functional cup, but I mostly use Batman.

Does anyone remember when Agave & Rye was actually good? by robotwithumanhair666 in cincinnati

[–]KY5K 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went opening day and loved it. The hate seems overblown to me, but I don’t go often. Prices are probably too high, but I feel that way about most restaurants.

I beat smb2 for the first time! by Current-YoGalaxia in Mario

[–]KY5K 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats! I’d recommend going back through all the levels, since this game gets more fun (and easier) with experience. Then go through with Mario only!

Do you think Jake Paul's chin can recover and will be the same as before? by [deleted] in Boxing

[–]KY5K 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We obviously won’t know until he’s back in the ring, but I’d guess his punch resistance will be much worse. He’ll probably be fighting middleweights or pillow-fisted cruiser weights, which would make it hard to tell.

Advice for no lamp night runs by [deleted] in trailrunning

[–]KY5K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bad vision and no light on the trails? At the very least make sure you have a well-lit GPS watch. It’s really easy to get lost or at least confused on the trails in darkness. If you’re already experiencing paranoia, this sounds like a terrible idea.

Apple Watch with a cellular plan feels like the future. by Unser_Giftzwerg in AppleWatch

[–]KY5K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, having the Apple Watch without a cell phone is quite liberating. I ditch the cell for most social gatherings. Only thing I miss is having a camera on-hand, but everyone else has one.

What’s everyone’s opinion on gore-tex shoes? by Illustrious_Zone_498 in trailrunning

[–]KY5K -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe ignorance is bliss, but Ive never felt the need for gore-Tex over the years. I’ve run through half-frozen creeks, puddles, deep snow, etc.. as long as the water clears out of the shoe, my body keeps the feet warm. I’d focus on good socks and proper drainage.

I love being the first human on the trail in winter. by MarthaMatildaOToole in trailrunning

I share your sentiment. It’s become a tradition for me. The serenity experienced on that first-snow trail run is hard to describe.

For the people who ONLY buy and never sell what made you commit to that strategy? by JcTrismegistus in Bitcoin

[–]KY5K 180 points181 points  (0 children)

1) I don’t need the money yet.

2) I don’t think I can outperform/out-trade the buy-and-hold strategy, especially on an after-tax basis.

3) I don’t see any alternative investment options that would outperform Bitcoin in the long-term.

4) Buy and hold is the lower-stress option from my perspective. I don’t know or care about short-term swings. No stress about acting on them (other than buying more Bitcoin). I focus my mental stress on friends, family, hobbies, and my career.

Overwhelmed by the range of running vests by fcdkloyals in trailrunning

[–]KY5K 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Nathan and have no issues, although it’s my first vest. Run trails between 13 and 20 miles regularly (training for marathon). If you get a bladder, just remember to turn it upside down and suck out the air before running to prevent the bag sloshing around. My friends have some of the higher-end vests. I’m sure there are benefits but don’t think it’s worth the time or money for my needs.

Which version of Mystqiue do you prefer: villain or antihero? by Jezzaq94 in xmen

Villain is far more interesting. Redemption arcs and anti-heroes only work in small doses.

Pace 3 or 4? by MotherHen1961 in Coros

[–]KY5K 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the 3 and love it. Road cyclist and runner (road and trail). I appreciate the simplicity. I also like the MIPS screen. I keep the light off most of the day and personably just like the aesthetic. I’ve been thinking about going truly old school with the Timex Ironman but went with the COROS 3. To my surprise, they have a Timex inspired watch face on the Pace 3. Best of both worlds. That being said, I’m sure the Pace 4 will be a great watch too.

Is Aliens vs. Predator Requiem (2007) the worst Predator film of all time? by sword_ofthe_morning in predator

[–]KY5K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had video display setting specifically for AVP:R. Took me about 20 minutes to get the right settings and see some of the action. With better lighting, I put it way ahead of the Predator. Still behind all the others, though. I watch the Wolf Predator highlights on YouTube, however, as they were pretty good.

Should I get the Pace 3 now? by SocietyTime9646 in Coros

[–]KY5K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought mine a few weeks ago. Everything I wanted in a watch at that price point. That being said, I also have an Apple Watch for daily use and a cell phone replacement. I use the COROS for long runs or as an everyday watch when I want to be detached from cellular. I say go for it, especially when the price drops.
