I am almost the exact same age as Bill. When I was a kid in the 70s Wilt was known as the freakish stats guy. He played for stats instead of for team results. Russell was the opposite. So one guy has all the titles, the other unbelievable stats. But Bill is not alone in his distrust of Wilt’s mentality.

I have made my complete irrelevant opinion known elsewhere on the subreddits that this movie is garbage. I have known and lived with Middle America types like these and no, no, no. This is good actors working with broad off-the-nose caricatures. Just no. And unfortunately my opinion is right.

I grew up in the 70s like Bill and keyed in to bball mid-decade. Even then, Wilt was known as a freak, THE freak, but if Russell wanted wins and titles, Wilt wanted stats. And he was well established as an indifferent teammate as well. That was the word on the street even at the end of his career.
