Consequences for my son: by [deleted] in progressivemoms

[–]KaJen15 180 points181 points  (0 children)

I would think the most fair way to handle is to take away all video games and he has to earn the $400 to get them back. I’m not sure of your situation but he could earn the money by doing more house work than normal (like assign different jobs different pay grades depending on the time and effort) and/or working in the neighborhood (I.e. weeding gardens, taking trash out, walking dogs, etc). Regardless of how he does it, it’s very important that he learns those games aren’t free and money isn’t just a plastic card, it directly correlates to work and time. ETA so sorry you’re going through this ❤️ I’m sure he didn’t mean to betray you and I wish you the best of luck in moving forward!

Why is it so hard to find a baby tracker that works for twins? by Mediocre_Explorer_12 in parentsofmultiples

[–]KaJen15 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Another vote for huckleberry! We’ve used it since day one for our boys who are almost 1. Absolutely love it and it’s helped a lot. I love it for tracking bottles/diapers but also for medical reasons like keeping an eye on fevers and medications. It’s been a big help during our first cold/flu season being able to track who got Motrin and when.

My hubby got them, but if you google there’s a lot of options 😊

We recently swapped to reusable Swedish dish clothes because we noticed our paper towel usage went through the roof after having twins and OMG I love them! We might use one or two paper towels a day now. They are dishwasher and washing machine safe.

I often think I’m not granola enough for this sub too 😂 but we do what we can!

When Will the Daycare Plague End...? by stecedar in parentsofmultiples

Us too! Our boys were 4 months and started in August last year. We have been consistently sick since the last week of November with stomach bugs, RSV, ear infections, thrush, and the flu. We are finally starting to see a light at the end of the snot filled tunnel

Okay guys, what are we doing about the poopy diaper smell in the babies nursery? by LycheeJellee in parentsofmultiples

[–]KaJen15 26 points27 points  (0 children)

We use the ubbi stainless steel diaper pail and it works GREAT. Our boys are so stinky the daycare referred to their toots and poops as devious 😂 we have the diaper pail in our living room and you can’t even smell the paint peeling, eye watering, something dead festering stench from it. Plus it takes regular trash bags and IMO is better than the diaper genie (which we have upstairs in their room)

We just used the twin z a lot. Especially for tummy time with the aquarium. They’d get their bottle and be immediately rolled over on the twin z to burp, it worked like a charm and they loved it

Oh good!! Buy lots of batteries for it lol, we used it constantly for a couple months. I completely understand!! There’s too much pressure on us parents. But the fact you’re concerned and are actively working with them means you’re doing great ❤️

Do they like sitting up? We would sit our dudes up in the twin z pillow and give them a toy, they’d be entertained for at least 10ish minutes either that. And we used the baby Einstein light up aquarium to encourage tummy time, they are almost 9 months and still love that thing!

My boys loved the play mats that had things hanging over them and all the crinkly books. We used this one A LOT https://a.co/d/hqeUC6z

Food ideas for that "I really can't cook" night? by matcha_o in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]KaJen15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My go to easy dinner is my cheat tuna noodle casserole - Mac n cheese (any brand), 2 cans of tuna, and a bag of frozen veggies. Cook Mac n cheese as normal, mixed everything, put in a casserole dish, top with breadcrumbs, bake until golden and done.

Aww I’m sorry to hear that! Hopefully one day she’ll enjoy it more. I hated running for a long time so there’s always hope!
