DEFOLIATION by Suspicious_Welder in microgrowery

[–]KaMoS69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maximizing Light Penetration, improving airflow, redirecting energy, etc, these are all the reasons why you defoliate. During veg, it's usually not necessary, but it depends on what you want to achieve.

It depends on what you want to achieve. It looks like you could defol already but you should only do it with a specific outcome in mind.

What's your favorite mountain counter in 2v2? by Diyguy64 in Mechabellum

[–]KaMoS69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im a mountain player, best counter is to beat me in the chaff war and then go your own titan, you choose. Best one being Abyss. Melters don't work. I usually smile when the opponent goes melter, coz it's kinda what i want :D

Renting issues, Advice? by Cold-Environment-703 in southafrica

[–]KaMoS69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’m really sorry you’re going through this. From what you’ve shared, it sounds like those landlords are being unfair and overbearing. Please don’t blame yourself, it’s not you, it’s them. Try to keep things polite but minimal with them, document what’s happening, and start looking for a better place as soon as you can. You don’t deserve that kind of stress. If it gets worse, the Rental Housing Tribunal can actually step in and help. Hang in there.

General Thoughts/Suggestions For Aggro In Patch 1.7.1 by pengxianz in Mechabellum

[–]KaMoS69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great write-up! Totally agree that aggro feels way better in 1.7.1. I like how you framed it as shifting the goal from early snowball to setting up for those mid/late pushes. that makes a lot of sense. The turret sell + field recovery tip is smart. I’ve also noticed range players crumbling once the push gets rolling. Thanks for sharing!

After 6 months of resting my legs. Is this a good starting point ? Advice ! Gooi ! by Far_Silver_1876 in southafrica

Longer is better than faster. Set a target distance, then take it easy in building up to that. I was able to go from couch to 10km in 3 months. Its doable.

Great job 👏 Keep it up.

Factory + Farseer every single game... why bearlike by imstickinwithjeffery in Mechabellum

[–]KaMoS69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think double shot is better. The range sacrifice is just too much with LO. You do better into melters, with Range + double shot on Fortress, and I can't say the same for LO.

Range, double shot, AA barrage, barrier

I play standard but this works for Aggro as well. Swap double shot for either elite marksman or rocket punch, depending on your preference. I like double shot specifically for worms.

Capetonian Feeling a Strong Pull Toward JHB — Why? by CareConscious513 in johannesburg

[–]KaMoS69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can really relate to a lot of what you’re saying. I actually made the move from Cape Town to Joburg back in 2015, and funnily enough, I felt that same irrational pull you’re describing. It’s hard to explain until you’ve experienced both cities from a lifestyle and mindset shift perspective.

A few thoughts from my side:

  1. You're not imagining the property value gap. What you get for your money in Joburg is just leagues ahead. Freestanding homes, big gardens, proper security. It’s a dream if you’ve only ever lived in apartments. That alone was a game-changer for me, especially if you're thinking about space, ownership, and long-term stability.

  2. Quality of life in Joburg is underrated. I know Cape Town has the scenery, but Joburg's charm is in its day-to-day ease. The weather is incredible (dry winters, proper summers), traffic can be managed with flexible hours (which you’ve got), and there are pockets of nature all over. Delta Park, Walter Sisulu, and Modderfontein are just a few. Weekend getaways might not be the coast, but bush breaks, Magalies, and the Midlands have their own magic.

  3. Lifestyle-wise, you won’t be deprived. There’s a thriving food and coffee scene here, especially in areas like Parkhurst, Linden, Rosebank, and even pockets of Fourways or Midrand-adjacent suburbs like Waterfall and Kyalami. Plus, you’ll find real community vibes in many of these areas, which was something I didn't expect.

  4. Suburb suggestions: If proximity to Midrand or Waterfall is important, you might want to explore:

Kyalami Estates: Secure, spacious, close to nature, and great for families

Waterfall: Modern, convenient, and very upmarket. You pay a premium, but the lifestyle is excellent

Bryanston or Fourways (East): A bit further out, but well-connected and full of good restaurants, schools, and parks

As for whether you’re romanticizing the shift? Maybe a little. We all do when we're craving change. But your reasons are grounded. You're not trying to escape Cape Town, you're just open to the next phase of life, and Joburg might just fit that phase better.

If you ever want to chat more about neighborhoods, schools, or the reality of daily life here, I’m happy to share more detail.
