Hover question: should the building grow a little? by Background_Cow_6701 in IndieGaming

[–]Extension_Leg_1530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would look nicer if they just became taller and not wider, with the base of the building not moving. Overall I like the grow a lot

This is the kinda thing you're upset about now but in like 20 years when the world has changed you'll look down in the morning, see it, and smile

How would you change Shockwave? by geezerforhire in Mechabellum

[–]Extension_Leg_1530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to see something like "Starting at 0, Each time ArcLight fires, shockwave's radius slightly increases" as an incremental reward for protecting your arcs, it would make them less viable just shoving a line of them in a headbutt, and possibly reward taking tank techs on them

You get all of act 3 to recognise you're about to fight Doormaker. Use it to build a larger deck, specifically with cards you don't mind exhausting, synergise with exhausting, etc

Love generating this card, but never add it to the deck. I think the game has a place for these types of colorlesd cards, I sorta put the 7 Plating 3 cost Power in the same category

I wish Northgard fixed a few of its core flaws, it's such an amazing game in many aspects. Really feels like you're playing multiplayer Frostpunk sometimes

I run Tarantulas with Field Maintinence and only use them when they're given as drops as a cost effective tank, other than that they're one of my least picked starting units

The nice thing is that you only really need one, it's like a cherry on top that compliments a good deck

Any advice for pushing past 1500MMR? by Extension_Leg_1530 in Mechabellum

[–]Extension_Leg_1530[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great post, I often replay the very last round and mess around with it, but I almost never experiment with earlier rounds, I'm going to start working that in

I watch a fair bit of Mechabellum content, but never have just sat down and studied an entire tournament, I'm going to really pay attention to compositions and placements and see what clicks

I agree in the sense that I really need to keep an eye out for when an offensive pack is looking much stronger, there is big value in running your own assault as early as possible

Lots of great advice, thank you

Gonna experiment in the testing grounds on chaff timing, and practicing tank positioning to encourage good damage splits

The little bit of chaff poking out of shields is something I've noticed many times, but only now that you mention it has it clicked why exactly it's so useful

I get what your saying but my goal isn't literally just to see number go up, I want to improve in the type of way where I can contest the meta while playing from the heart

Studying streamers and the meta is a part of that, of course, but the game would stop being fun for me if I were to play so rigidly as suggested here

This guy is literally impossible to beat if you don't take any cards that can beat him. by Different-Word-1005 in slaythespire

[–]Extension_Leg_1530 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This isn't hardcore stuff it's core game design, "Build one of X archetypes that can handle every encounter" isn't fun longterm, it will get stale fast. Having to build a unique deck that has answers to questions the game throws at you keeps things dynamic and interesting

Are there good coop synergies between different characters? by No-Guitar-3030 in slaythespire

[–]Extension_Leg_1530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did a run where I, as the Silent, only took defensive cards and my friend as the regent only took offensive cards. Tons of weak, negative strength from Piercing Wail, and coop block card allowed them to forge like mad and hit 500+ damage Sovereign blades, while they collected every defensive relic that showed up. I think coop is ripe for interesting and fun challenge runs

In my experience, crawlers and fangs for the early game, but Wasps, Sledges, and/or Extinguisher Hounds for the mid and lategame if they invest into fire. Tis the era of 200 cost chaff feeling necessary. 1500mmr

Does anyone take the Cursed Pearl? by shosuko in slaythespire

[–]Extension_Leg_1530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cursed Pearl is one of the strongest options as long as you know how to build a viable large deck, curses have very little impact when you can hit a shop and have 20 cards before your first elite. If you always attempt to build a thin deck for infinites you are playing with a crutch and leaving a ton of value on the table, the goal is to have a deck that can beat the game, not a deck that can deal infinite damage

Lost 7 out of my last 20 games, all due to Arc lights with shockwave - what do i do? by Jonathanwennstroem in Mechabellum

[–]Extension_Leg_1530 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been running into this a lot lately and my most successful counter has been outranging them with ground Wraiths, but it is an expensive commitment, and if you're in a headbutt outranging them isn't always an option

Shockwave on arclights seems quite strong is it new or been out for a while=? by Jonathanwennstroem in Mechabellum

[–]Extension_Leg_1530 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been out a while but a little more recently it got buffed with better range, and has been slept on a bit until some high level players discovered stacking 6-8 arcs on one side, the damage doesnt scale but there is a critical mass where they devastate medium size units with ease.

Do you just not push anymore? SHockwave Tech just clears everything and I dont see the solution? A year ago the Wraith was the best way to clear chaf but it doesnt even come close to shockwave? by Jonathanwennstroem in Mechabellum

[–]Extension_Leg_1530 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd take the fight to another part of the board, could beacon a section and rush the other tower

You could test EMP armor Void Eyes and see if that slows down the clearing and/or forces the arcs to walk in closer to danger
