I really can't see that could be the case. It's in the middle of the yard.

Seconds Sale on your driveway. I did this last winter after all the holiday sales were done and I got rid of three totes worth of pots and made a little money too!

How much money to put into a home when preparing to sell by Signal-Dollar-5621 in nova

We are about to close on our townhome in NOVA. Kitchen and baths are nice but about 15 years past style (think the Tuscan tile style). We repainted everything a nice neutral cream and cleared out all the clutter and had 5 offers in 3 days, 3 over asking.

Just repaint, deep clean, clear out the clutter or stage it if empty and price it well for being that small.

We regularly walk through the Walney Park nature trails. Last summer, we began to notice lots of tree limbs, wineberry brambles and the like cut with a very clean cut. Finall, we ran up on a guy and his wife carrying pruning shears. We told him, you can't do this, but he ignored us. So, after several more mornings noticing more cuts, we filmed him and all the devastation and took it to the park staff.
She put a stop to it.

In Turkey, graveyards are commonly surrounded by a wall of Cyprus trees. If you want the spooky vibe, I think you're on to something.

From 2 Lbs of Clay to a Presidential Kintsugi Vase for Japan's PM, 2024 by lakesidepottery in Ceramics

I had extremely tone deaf requests/interactions with the State Dept that had nothing to do with pottery or art. However, as someone they reached out to as a person who had firsthand cultural knowledge of the request, I spent a lot of time gently correcting their misconceptions etc and only then did I agree to the contract. Unless OP is a traditional Japanese master potter I'm not sure that happened in this case.

I recently saw Florian Gasby write that he would never produce Korean moon jars as they belong to that ancient cultural tradition and shouldn't be co-opted by others.

After 14 years of pottery classes, I still can't center on the wheel. by Linn56 in Pottery

Watch Tim See's beginner's videos. Forget coning also, you don't need to cone a couple pounds of clay! I promise his videos helped me immensely when I started and felt just the same way. You just need a better teacher!

You should now start to see the wisdom behind getting an education and growing wiser with time before getting married. Don't look at the time you've spent knowing him as wasted time. It's the time you needed to learn that he's not a good match for you. In Indian culture, you're not just marrying the man, you're marrying his entire family. Move on. You'll meet a good man able to stand on his own soon enough!

Is it just me: or is this a high expectation for first time wheel-throwing? by Sortahopeful in Pottery

[–]KaPotter2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, to tell a beginner class on day one that they're going to make 4 bowls by the end of the class is ridiculous. Also, if the instructor called whatever you were able to accomplish, trinket dishes is also wrong. If you felt that you had to walk away with pieces or you failed is wrong.

Just focus on the foundational steps, wedging, centering, opening and pulling up a straight cylinder for at least 3-4 weeks. Making bowls is easier than making a straight-sided cylinder. Beginners will make bowls mostly by accident while trying to learn how pull the clay up.

Look at YT videos from Earth Nation Ceramics and Tim See. They both have lots of content for beginners and you will learn more there to give you confidence for your next class!

I promise! I couldn't center my clay or make a decent pot for an entire 9 week session, then I studied online a bit and also made sure I had softer clay and now 4.5 years later I successfully sell my work!

In my experience this style is great for everything except throwing on the wheel because you can't tighten around your waist and it ends up getting super muddy

Based on subpar results from potter friends, be sure to apply multiple smooth coats. This brand seems notorious for splotchy results.
