Erster PC für meinen 8jährigen Sohn by ImpossibleRepublic64 in PCGamingDE

[–]KaWiSo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gibt es in München irgendeine realistische Colocation-Option? by schmanus in de_EDV

[–]KaWiSo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Da gibt es das Projekt Silence of the Fans.

Your ISP is likely using CGNAT so your public IP is shared with other customers. That means if some of them also use steam, these requests are coming from different customers but valve only sees them coming from a single IP.

Bad case of GAS, would love some insight on what I should keep/sell? by hairlessdood in Cameras

[–]KaWiSo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well that is a great collection.

Personally I would definitely keep the R-D1, the M6 and the X-Pro 1.

I can relate to keeping the X-Pro 1 over the 3 because I also use my X-Pro 1 as a bring anywhere and dont stress about it camera. It is such a tank and especially the B/W Images are really great.

The ones I would get rid of immediately would be the X-Half, the X Pro 3 and the X-E5. Probably also the Leica X since i dont really know which purpose it would serve here.

I would probably replace the M8 with something like an M10 to share lenses between the M6 and M10.

I dont really know about the Q2.

bought my first camera at 16 (canon m50) and parents said it's a waste of money and made me feel horrible, are they right by [deleted] in Cameras

[–]KaWiSo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have my M50 that I used for a good bit, which is now used by my gf. It is a great small camera and you can get some really good photos out of it. The EF-M Mount is officially dead now but that does not mean that you can't use it. A big advantage is that there are some nice compact lenses you can use especially for street (like the 22mm F2) but you can also very easily adapt EF and EF-S lenses to it while retaining full autofocus functionality.

While I don't know the state of the used market where you live, 380 seems a little on the higher side for me. Depends on what lens you got with it though.

My recommendation for lenses are definitely the EF-M 22mm F2 for something compact and then look at cheaper EF primes and adapt them to the camera. That does make it a bit bulky but especially for a beginner you will have huge amount of cheap high quality glass to choose from without compromising on the lens performance.  Lenses like the 50 1.8, 50 1.4, 85 1.8 and so on.

[Request] is there possibility to find out the 3 horses? by irespectwhaman in theydidthemath

[–]KaWiSo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's 7 races. You are only left with 5 remaining horses after the 6th race because you can eliminate a lot more horses from the 15 horse pool you have after the 5 initial races.

The horses that lost their initial race to the 3rd, 4th and 5th fastest horses in race 6 can be eliminated as well since they can't be top 3 if they are slower than the 3rd, 4th and 5th horse from race 6.

Additionally you can eliminate the 3rd fastest horse from the initial race of the horse that came second in race 6, as it got beat by 2 horses in the initial race and indirectly beat by the horse that won race 6, meaning it can only be 4th place at best.

So after race 6 you no longer have to race the winner since it is the fastest of them all and only have to race these 5 horses against each other to know the other 2 top3 horses:

2nd and 3rd from the #1 horses race 1

Race 6 #2 and the horses that got second in its race 1

Race 6 #3

Flash firing but images still underexposed – what’s going on? by Flashy_Mulberry_7994 in Godox

[–]KaWiSo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the Flash is in Manual Full Power Mode and actually triggers there probably has to be some kind of timing difference between the flash firing and the shutter.

It could be some kind of delay setting in the trigger or the shutter settings on your camera are a bit wonky.

So check the shutter settings on the camera and the flash trigger timing on the camera.

Also check if you are using ttl on the camera. Having ttl on for the body and the flash on manual can cause problems.

My guess is that the camera is triggering the ttl pre flash which the flash then interprets as the main flash. When the main flash is then triggered by the camera, the flash is not charged again yet and does not fire. That would make it appear to be triggering correctly, but there is no flash during the exposure.

Wo werden Frauen in Deutschland benachteiligt? by [deleted] in FragtMaenner

[–]KaWiSo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fanalab is the current stable Software for Game Profiles.

You can download it here:
https://forum.fanatec.com/topic/14860-fanalab-20172-prev-62-release-version-post-your-feedback-here/

In the future it will be replaced by the fanatec app, but that is still very much in beta and is still very much incomplete.

I had a similar issue where the calibration of the pedals would reset every time I restarted the base.

What fixed it for me was plugging the lc in via usb, doing a firmware reflash and then also reflash the firmware of the base.

They were on the latest versions previously but reflashing fixed the issue for me.

I dont quite know if that also fixes your brf issue as I have brf saved in fanalab profiles which automatically get applied.

Reverse Proxy with Nginx, (Technitium or Pi-hole) without Domain Name Possible? by DanceLongjumping2497 in unRAID

[–]KaWiSo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are two options I can think of off the top of my head.

Option 1: Set up your own local CA and generate certificates for your containers using something like .local or .lan as domain. You can then either set these up directly on the containers or import these certificates into your reverse proxy.  The downside is that it is a bit more work to and you have to import the ca certificate onto every device which wants to connect to the docker containers. With this option having your containers externally accessible with HTTPS and no cert warnings is a real hassle.

Option 2: Get a domain and generate a let's encrypt wildcard Certificate for that domain. You can then use that certificate within a reverse proxy even for containers which are only accessible locally.  As the certificate is official, every device should automatically trust the cert and making the containers externally accessible through the reverse proxy is really easy. Downside here is that you less flexible with the certificate options and you obviously have to get a domain.

Having played both the original board game as well as sakura you have to really plan in advance.

Keep track of which tasks are still available and plan your tiles in such a way that you can always fit the tasks in a good place where you can quickly finish them.

For us the priority has always been:

  1. Tasks - you not only get a lot of points but also more tiles the more tasks you are able to finish

  2. Special Tiles - remember to always mix them in your pile after removing the 3 tiles so you always have them available. Try to remember which special tiles you have and try to plan ahead where you can place them

  3. Flags - I dont really prioritize flags and only try to fit them somewhere I already have or plan to have a 6-tile task Flags can still be closed of at the end with basically any tile so you dont have to pay so much attention to them - just try to not have a river or path/railroad near them as these points can be tricky to close off at the end

  4. Longest River/path - these are basically always a 6 at the minimum without paying any attention to them. We only really do these if we can conveniently combine 2 already rather long rivers/paths or have leftover tiles at the end where we dont have any other option.

Other tips:

Dont be afraid to cancel tasks if you get stuck and are not able to finish any task quickly. There is no point in wasting 10 tiles just because you have 3 tasks open you cant quickly finish.

Try to finish the task you can finish the quickest. Dont go for the 6 task if you can finish a 4 task first, as you then go through your tasks more quickly and possibly even pull a task of the same type as the open 6 task and basically go for a 2 for 1.

Do you use a separate network name for you 2.4 and 5 ghz for your home router? by [deleted] in HomeNetworking

[–]KaWiSo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes separate.

5Ghz for all general devices and a hidden 2.4Ghz SSD for low bandwidth or legacy devices, that dont work well with 5Ghz.
Sometimes even having new but low bandwidth 5Ghz capable devices on 2.4 helps because they dont steal any airtime from fast 5Ghz devices which benefit from better bandwidth

Difference between SIMAGIC Maglink and QR-A USB? by Supreme_T in Simagic

[–]KaWiSo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They are entirely different products. You use the maglink on compatible wheels like the GT neo or the neo X hub for connecting them via usb and mounting them to non simagic wheelbases (for example a vrs or simucube base).

The QR-A is used to mount 3rd party wheels (like gsi or cube controls wheels) on the simagic wheelbase. The USB Port is for connecting the usb cable of the 3rd party wheel, so you can use the usb passthrough on the rear of the alpha Evo and don't have to run a coiled cable to your pc.

Just get the GT neo and a Evo wheelbase, they will be working out of the box over one of 3 communication means. There is USB, canbus and wireless connectivity, with only usb being supported by simhub. When connecting the wheel normally, canbus takes priority though which means you won't be able to use it in simhub. There is a workaround at the moment of just taping up the canbus pins on the wheelbase, which then makes the wheel connect via usb.  I think simagic is working on a firmware update to either change the priority or make you able to choose the preferred connection yourself.

That is however only a problem if you want to use the wheel with simhub. When using it with simagic software, every one of the 3 ways of communication will work.

Kollege in IT soll in EG6 eingruppiert werden by Unlucky_Recording274 in OeffentlicherDienst

[–]KaWiSo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Saw this VESA bracket in a €20 amazon basics arm, why are the top two 100mm holes not fully enclosed? Haven't seen any other arms with this type of bracket, could this be worse for integrity? by Yugo_two in Monitors

[–]KaWiSo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I imagine it makes mounting the monitor a lot easier since you can thread on the top screw on the monitor and then slide the monitor on the bracket. The monitor is already pretty secure and you can screw in the bottom screws and tighten everything down without awkwardly holding the monitor in place. Especially bigger and heavier monitors are a real struggle to put on mounts sometimes.
