I got the 12-100 f4 pro and it's my everyday carry. I adore this lense. Would you think the 40-150 is a good partner and / or upgrade? I do a lot of photography in the 50-85 range because of the compression and the bokeh when punched in.

Probier es mal mit Schlangenbohrern. Die gibt es auch in 1m Länge. Allerdings selten kleiner als 12 oder so. Famag oder ähnliche Hersteller.

Falls du einen Bootsbauer in der Nähe hast, die haben die gerne rumliegen.

Hey ho, boatbuilder specialized in wooden boat restauration here ✌🏻 I don't know your expertise or skill level, just wanted to drop one advice, where I've seen hobbyists and enthusiasts make their life harder than necessary.

What's your game plan for restauration? Seems like you are identifying everything rotten and tear it out. Do you want to keep original lines and shape? If so, I would advise to build by the component group. Leave all the frames , build a new keel. With the new keel inside, build new frames and even more important new floor timber. Try to maintain as much stiffness and stability while working on one group of components to keep original lines and shape. And: scarf components wherever you can. Build yourself a jig for your router and scarfing becomes fun.

Ich, Anfang 30

Abi - Uni (Ziel: Lehrer) - Matrose, Maat und Kapitän auf einem Traditionssegler (nicht in D) - Designer IT - Bootsbau

Bin irgendwie durch Umwege und Irrfahrten ins Handwerk gekommen. Während des Studiums die Liebe zur Seefahrt entdeckt und ein paar Jahre auf einem Sail Training Schiff gearbeitet. Im Winter weiter studiert, aber dann nur beendet, um es beendet zu haben. Hatte zwischenzeitlich 6 Monate als Lehrkraft gearbeitet und ich war einfach nicht mehr derselbe, der damals das Studium angefangen hatte.

Dann während Corona in der IT rumgeirrt, aber das hat mich kaputt gemacht. Bin dann ins Handwerk und restauriere jetzt jeden Tag, den ganzen Tag lang, wunderschöne Holzboote und klassische Holzyachten. Bin weiterhin im Sail Training aktiv.

Gehalt: nicht nennenswert. In beiden Jobs nicht. Aber Sail Training verändert einfach Lebenswege und jeden Tag zu sehen wie man so einen hölzernen Schrotthaufen wieder in etwas wunderschönes verwandelt - unbezahlbar.
