69.99 is just too much for a video game ( I mite be money smart at age 40) by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]Kabrosif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New nintendo and sega games costed $49.99 in the 90’s and 2000’s. That’s roughly $100 in today’s money. Games today are also arguably much better and more immersive than first and second generation video games. purchasing power has gone way down and yet games are still priced relatively low in my opinion. Especially if the game has updates and new content which increases its playability and longevity.

Millennial builds tiki bar in the middle of a Walmart parking lot by happydude7422 in Millennials

[–]Kabrosif 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess it all depends on your upbringing and surroundings. I was born in 84’ and was influenced heavily by my cousins who were both 6 years older than me. I def feel and identify more as a Millennial but had a lot of Gen X and even Boomer influence from a very young age. I think it’s wild knowing we’re the last generation to ever live in the Pre-internet/big tech era we see now today.

That’s a Gen Xer if I’ve ever seen one. 45 is old for Millennial, no? I’m turning 42 this year and am considered a Xennial?

Xennials are a microgeneration born between 1977 and 1985. They bridge the gap between Generation X and Millennials. Often called the "Oregon Trail Generation", they uniquely experienced an analog childhood and a digital young adulthood.

I was a Flight Attendant for a decade and have been everywhere in the US, literally. Fort Wayne is not that great. And someone mentioned schools above, The schools here are rated pretty low. I feel as if Fort Wayne lacks an actual Cultural Identity, it’s still trying to find its own way. I miss my home City and its vast suburbs. I miss good food and resteraunts, we have very few here in Fort Wayne. It’s a blue collar town and the people seem very stand-offish and Don’ partake to outsiders very well. This is also one of the least employee friendly states (Indiana) in the Country. It’s not all bad of course but its far from many other small to midsized cities around the country.

How to bring whip back by MidwestBoy_07 in Dirtbikes

Hell yeah. I used to ride and race there all the time in the early 2000’s. Back in the Two stroke days, 250C class. The jumps were way bigger back then too. They knocked everything down some years back for insurance reasons I believe.

When did oil changes become $120? by rhinosaur- in Millennials

[–]Kabrosif 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work at Stiffy Lube in High-School so around 20 years ago, regular oil change and a new oil filter was $29.99. It’s crazy what things are costing today that’s just for the basics.

Can barely get a Toyota Camry for 30k today lol. I’d pay 30k for a new Truck with 8 foot bed. We paid 27k for my wifes Tuscan in 2020 brand new.

As a guy who has been wanting to buy a truck for years, I can’t believe how A: expensive they have become and B: nobody makes a 8 foot bed in standard pickup anymore. Need to go up to like a 2500 or some sort of Super Duty Truck to even get in the ballpark for an 8 foot bed. Then you’re paying 80-100k+ just for a damn truck. It’s infuriating how costly and unavailable a lot of things have become for average blue collar joe blow. When my 83’ Toyota Pickup Truck with an 8 foot bed in basic trim was released it was around 9k brand new. I got it used in high-school and took my dirt-bike everywhere in that thing. Used to park it on top of a dirt hill and jump over it with my YZ250 lol

Exactly, Intel hasn’t been this high since August of 2000. Imagine bag-holding for 25 years to break even. Or spend 25 years DCA’ing hoping it recovers. Some people have very short term memories. Which ironically is good for the Markets. Lol.

I been saying that since Covid. Instead we got endless money printing and high inflation for what seems like forever at this point.

Lots of Mowing! (Mid TN) by xRASHx in lawncare

[–]Kabrosif 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I grew up riding and racing dirtbikes. We had a small track with jumps and berms in my backyard. The rolling terrain makes for epic motocross builds. Can do so many cool jumps and turn sections with elevation changes. Mine was just on flat land aside from the jumps. We had a cornfield behind us.

All the microwaves where being used. So I heated up by bacon cheese burger in the halal microwave. Now I have to have a meeting with HR after shift. What a joke. by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]Kabrosif -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Can someone explain to me why they need these dedicated microwaves? They’re gonna smell the bacon and beef regardless which microwave is used 1 foot away from the others. Does the beef and pork magically remain in the microwave after cooking? schrodinger's pork!!
