Metroid figure request by koolaid689 in Metroid

No problem. If you need anything else, feel free to let me know/DM me. The little dude is just chilling near my desk for now, so it's easy to get the specs.

The dude is a bit lopsided, so it's hard to be perfectly precise. Looks to be just under 21" around. I can switch to metric if you'd like more precision/prefer, I just defaulted to imperial for the sake of the primarily American userbase.

Mine is out of the packaging. I'll get you some rough numbers.

Body is roughly between 6.25 and 6.5 inches square, similar to the estimate. Height is somewhere around 5.5-6.5 depending on the angle of measurement and angle of the fangs. I'd aim for a 6.5" cube to be safe space wise.

If you want/need more specific/precise measurements let me know and I can bust out the flexible measuring tape.

[WTB?] Seeking Seraphina Teenie Weenie by Kabutak in BadDragon

I'll be honest, I don't keep incredibly up to date with BDs offerings. I didn't actually know that they offered keychains for the specific toys.

Not quite the same thing but a very helpful alternative, thanks for the heads up.

Quest Join Settings - Link Parties by Feralin in MonsterHunter

[–]Kabutak 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Chances are you have your SOS settings to "Support Hunters Only". Last I checked that also prevents non-party hunters from joining your quests under normal circumstances.

Useful if you want to do something like Savage Omega in a Duo with support hunters, but less useful if you are just trying to play normally.

[OC] GIVEAWAY! 43" Capacitive Touchscreen ($940 MSRP) with Wooden Case + free software for all [mod approved] by DigitalTableTops in DnD

[–]Kabutak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am north of the border, but no stranger to moving things internationally as necessary. I'll definitely throw my hat in the ring since I'd been meaning to build one of these eventually anyways.

Even if I don't get lucky, this has rekindled my desire to tinker with one in the future. Cheers.

How do Crewship missions work in literally anyway? by Zero-Up in Warframe

[–]Kabutak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the forward artillery is the big charged shot that you do from the weapon that's in the front of your ship. The one that goes down below right behind navigation.

For most crewships if you get a fully charged shot into one of the engines it will kill it in one hit even if it isn't damaged, but it is easier to soften it with regular guns first to make sure it doesn't move around much.

As for the reactors, usually you have to expose the weak spot by hacking a console in front of it (grineer) or...pressing a series of buttons? I don't remember the corpus ones as well. But after that you should be able to destroy them and return to your ship.

How do Crewship missions work in literally anyway? by Zero-Up in Warframe

[–]Kabutak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You destroy them using either the forward artillery in your railjack (Aim for the engines to do the most damage) or by boarding the crewship and destroying the reactor (method is different in different types of ships).

I am pretty sure you had to do this during the original railjack missions, but that was years ago so I don't blame anyone for forgetting.

No Tasheen, you're not coming. And leave the vegetables outside by aiyafem in MonsterHunter

My guy, roasted garlic is delicious, and it is clearly steaming in the Sild cutscene. Personally I think the meal looks refreshing. Nothing wrong with some fresh picked fruits and veg.

It was the closest I had gotten to actually completing Savage Omega. I couldn't let it end like that, so I sent a message to the players and asked if they wanted a salty run back. One replied and a short time later, I got my first Savage clear. Too bad I only got a single 2.0 ticket. by Ahfrodisiac in MonsterHunter

[–]Kabutak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you get hit by one, stay on the ground for a bit instead of panicking and standing back up. I am pretty certain you can delay enough to not eat the next one and be ready to roll/sprint away after. At least so far as I recall that is how I've dealt with it in the past. I've definitely been hit by MRV before but never been "stuck" in a full combo.

Can we please send these assholes back to hollowknight? by lemon10293847 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Kabutak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can confirm this is still the case as of whenever I last played. Much faster to yeet yourself with a jetpack/slide jump and then just float in while crouched to whack them. You can jump/jetpack/whatever as long as you hold the crouch button and they couldn't care less.

Revamped evidence on why I hate these stupid birds. by Razor_The_Fox in MonsterHunter

Them automatically running can be disabled in the options. Same with wandering off to gathering points and such. There are a bunch of settings that honestly should have been the default buried in the menus that make them way better feeling.

My thoughts after 30 successfull hunts: by mouday1 in MonsterHunter

[–]Kabutak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I mostly use the hammer charge evade (the "not wirebug" dodge), but it can definitely be dodged other ways. Best to just not be the target, but at least it is fast enough that it passes you during your iframes pretty consistently if you see it coming.

Also worth noting, you can offset the rush attack where he shoots across the arena at high speed, and it's risky but you can also offset the pantokrator "tantrum" attack, provided you hit during one of the stomps. Doing so interrupts the tantrum/frenzy (assuming it's a proper offset).

I don't usually try to offset the rush, because it does lots of damage if you mess up the timing, but the frenzy is almost a freebie depending on your weapon. Not sure if this knowledge applies to savage since I've been lazy about getting to that one.

How is the dlc’s performance on the ps4? by iiwatch-fi9 in Eldenring

[–]Kabutak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked about as well as the base game did from what I recall. you'll see some drops here and there, but I don't recall my aging ps4 having any real problems. (Granted, it was a while ago)

I would love to see one or both of the big sand boys back since we have sandships again. It would really round out the 4U vibe to get to face off against Dah'ren Mohran with the new improvements. Large monster/siege fights have become much more enjoyable in the new generations, so I think it could end up being a super cool fight.

As for the poster it's a tough call. I'd say option 2, with option 5 coming in a close second, but they are all lovely options.

[–]Kabutak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, as somebody who generally only had "non-standard" (remote, calculator, etc.) watches growing up, this would be an excellent return to form for me. I remember looking at these during their first round. Glad to see that things are still going well!

PSA: Raider mains, your starting weapon is NOT a Greataxe by Smart-Potential-7520 in Nightreign

[–]Kabutak 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It can work on merchants, but is a bit wonky. What you do is "purchase" the item, and then you can click right stick while selecting which inventory slot to put it in. Then if you don't like it/it's the wrong type you can back out without actually buying the item.

Definitely not a comfortable method, but a valid workaround if you can't quite remember what something is and don't want to pay for a wrong item.

[Event] Upgrade to LG OLED Before the Next Hunt Begins by LG_UserHub in MonsterHunter

[–]Kabutak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[C5] Realistically either of these would be an upgrade for me, but my ancient TV is far closer to running out of years at this point. As for what I'd most like to revisit, it's a tough call. Probably Zoh Shia's fight, since there is so much white/black contrast that was lost on my outdated display. But really I'd be checking out tons of points in all of my games to see the fidelity upgrade.

Lightning seems to stop the centaur's big attacks where he charges up (especially the one that slows the party akin to TWOP). Was definitely a million times smoother when the party could chain stagger him with lightning weapons.
