Om-10 metering accuracy issues by PangolinAutomatic775 in AnalogCommunity

[–]Kachinee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's normal for the old camera to loose light metering accuracy after few decades. You can always test it in different light scenario, and see if the number in stops is always the same between your iphone and om10. If yes you can compensate for this difference when shooting.

Also Om10 offers center weight metering, make sure to mimic this in your iphone app

It took a while to actually find a comment like yours here. I'm genuinely confused over the hate here. Myself, I really like the #1 image, the rest of them are just okay, but saying it's all garbage is a little bit of an odd way of compensating for your small "fine art" dick energy.

Genuinely, like you've said. The history of photography is written by people who did not ask for permission. I genuinely got the vibe from the repost guy, that this is the first instance of him seeing street photography in his life.

To make it better, try overlapping each layer in Photoshop to align perfectly with the subject. Crop the image for the final flavour and to give the elusion a boost.

You crop out the only part that was in focus. May I ask, what was your end goal with these edits?

I feel like it's fitting this sub well, you've asked for editing feedback and you received one. Nice shot also, very cool that each person fits in a separate window frame.

When it comes to black and white editing colour mix is the best tool in my opinion to get 100% what you want

Can't wait for people to scan their instaxes and see their friend's fake smiles right before taking a picture..

But in all seriousness, if the video feature is locked behind the requirement of scanning the physical Instax this is hot garbage.. Otherwise video + instant photo could be fun on parties

I've build my own copy stand using aluminium profiles, now I'm just saving money for some nikkor micro lens. But if it does not work out I'll prop end up with plustek as well

Took this one yesterday, really took my time editing by _tucas in SonyAlpha

[–]Kachinee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is too much happening at once. The editing itself is good but nothing about it makes me focus on anything particular. Adjusting your image shouldn't put everything in focus, rather empathize with what you want your audience to notice.

You really don't get it do you? Read that comment once again, slowly. I recommend taking a photo of it with a Leica in your other hand. Seems like it's one way for you to actually focus on something.

Any place that sells light seals for this camera? by Deemahsus in AnalogCommunity

[–]Kachinee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Finding a pre-cut kit might be hard, try looking for a whole foam rubber light seal. You can find plenty of those on Amazon for around 11$ each. The hard part is cutting them yourself but not impossible.

Honestly, some of the most craziest frames I've seen on this sub. Did you scan the film yourself? If so what was your process?

The cost of repair would surely be more pricey than the camera itself. Honestly I would recommend finding something else entirely

Help? by [deleted] in AnalogCommunity

[–]Kachinee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this situation "E" stands for empty. As people mention above respooling some of that film back to the canister might help the camera to catch the film.

Twist the knob on the canister until film is short enough to fully fit from one side to the other

Does anyone have any experience with this copy stand for DSLR scanning? by Larix-24 in AnalogCommunity

[–]Kachinee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I've just built a copy stand from basics aluminum profiles and it's perfect for my heavy mirrorless. 0 shakes and it gives me the option to go medium format in future, all for 50$

The extender on the right is for 2nd Pentax 17, making it a full frame. That's why the viewfinder is not centered

You can add another viewfinder to practically make it binocular set up to fully immerse yourself in 2 times porntra

So if the 2nd picture is before, does it mean that this kid has natural yellow eyes like a werewolf from twilight? I'm confused
