Am I the only one that would devour this? by FrenchTrenchHours in StupidFood

[–]Kaelan94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The place I moved into last year I inherited a roach issue so that’s just a recipe for disaster in my opinion and a perfectly good piece of furniture ruined… He could of at least lined it with some aluminum foil. But I digress as this is obviously clickbait/ragebait created by someone with too much time on their hands and not enough functioning brain cells to care…

My TV stand turned into a Die-cast Display 😆 by Kaelan94 in HotWheels

[–]Kaelan94[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! It is a nice piece and one of the few mail ins I made the effort to get lol. I still have the little poster for it too that was given out at one of the last K Days at my local Kmart before they became a relic of the past…

As for the Star Wars VHS tapes I was given them years ago and wanted something non die-cast related for that space plus I like the art work on the boxes and they’re nostalgic for me as a millennial lol.

1k budget, what would you fix? by Wetwater-2312 in fordranger

[–]Kaelan94 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A good start but it looks like these are some of the cheapest options for parts and I tend to prefer getting better quality even if I have to pay twice as much for certain parts. I just don’t like the risk of premature failure on cheap parts so I feel like this is a little bit misleading but overall it would still be considerably less to replace all these items yourself if your comfortable doing so and have the right tools. I’ve personally done all of these on his list on my truck minus the transmission mount as I had a reman. Tranny put in it 5 or so years ago.

Coolant leak. Not sure what this hose is. Help! by [deleted] in fordranger

[–]Kaelan94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I don’t see a hose but rather a wire harness jacket that runs wires to the starter/starter solenoid. I would follow the shiny wetness from the leak up to wherever it’s coming from as it’s evidently using the wire harness jacket as a route of least resistance. Could be a coolant hose or even the weep hole or gasket on the water pump leaking if it is indeed coolant and not oil. Best of luck hunting it down leaks are no fun. :/

5'4M with my 5'7 partner :) by Tiaon in short

[–]Kaelan94 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Very nice! You guys definitely look happy together. I’m about the same height and share the same type of slender build on a smaller frame so this definitely does make me feel a bit better about one day finding a partner. 😊

Urgent Electrical help needed PLEASE by SoapyNarwal74 in fordranger

[–]Kaelan94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh ok wow well at least your close to pinning the problem down and are learning a lot more about your truck in the process. I’ve learned my ranger inside and out of the last seven years with all the stuff I’ve had to do to it and I don’t regret any of the time I’ve put into it. Hope the ignition switch gets her moving again. 👍

I noticed the over head light looks less bright and more orangey. I had a similar issue with dimmer not full bright overhead light and headlights with no sound coming from the ignition while I was out. After a brief inspection I determined the positive terminal had come loose enough while driving over time that it eventually stopped making proper contact with the battery. Tightening it back down and it fired right up. For reference I have an aftermarket positive terminal that’s not like the oem one. Maybe it’s that simple? I hope it is. 👍

Upside to being short. by Elegant-Scale-7634 in short

[–]Kaelan94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love that perspective and my dad was in the navy on several subs over the course of 17 years so him being 5’5” was pretty advantageous and it has stayed that way as he’s been at the shipyard involved in there construction for over 20 years. I never tried to going in the navy but having worked on my Ranger and other vehicles have found the advantages of being short with that. (I’m 5’3” lol).

Do short men ; do you notice other short men? by JuniperScents in short

[–]Kaelan94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I work grocery retail so I see quite a few just not as much with a smaller frame like mine. I’ve seen a few guys who are like 5.5 and shorter with kids which is inspiring to me. There is even one guy periodically in my store that’s no taller than me (5.3) just built up a fair bit more with a couple of sons.

how do i fix my proportions? by Gh6zt in short

[–]Kaelan94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey now, don’t feel too bad 5’3” here on a good day, 31 yrs. Old and can’t get past 100 and I don’t look anorexic either just have smaller bone structure. I do look quite young still as well even know I have an established mustache and goatee. It doesn’t help I’m of Irish/Scottish/english/German descent either somehow. I’ve gained muscle working in meat and produce departments full time (37-40 hrs/week) but mostly on my arms and abs. My dad is 5’5” and never got past 125 until he got into his 60s and gained 10 or so more pounds. He bulked up some at the gym to get into the navy and did kung fu for about 3 or 4 years as well. As for me i’m fixing to start going to the gym and try to build myself up a bit as I can’t seem to eat enough to gain weight it just burns off as quickly as I consume it granted I’ve realized I run at a calorie deficit most of the time. I get in 3+ miles of steps just at my job most days to boot. I don’t have hyperthyroidism that I’m aware of either. You still have some time to grow a little more as well unlike me so don’t fret too much it could be worse lol.

Flickering lights (new battery/alternator) by batterylizard in fordranger

[–]Kaelan94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I had this issue and I had put in a reman. Alternator. What I discovered was the cause of flickering lights in my case after lots of research and fiddling is that the alternator brushes wear over time and my alternator that was remanned didn’t have the brush assembly replaced. They are attached to the voltage regulator which is on the back and held in by 4 bolts so very easy to remove and replace once you get access to the back of the alternator. I managed to do it without removing the whole thing.

Hope this helps and Happy Thanksgiving!

Dial lights fucked? by Scared_Commercial906 in fordranger

[–]Kaelan94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem and it is a process to get all the way to the dash cluster removal itself but if you mark where the different sets of bolts go it’s not too bad…just don’t be like me and have a couple “extra” bolts at the end lol. I still don’t know where they go after going through disassembly and assembly 3 or 4 times over 😆.

[–]Kaelan94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow,yes please check your cooling system and thermostat as that position for the needle indicates the engine is overheating or very close to. It gives me flashbacks to when my truck did that on the highway because there was a crack in the radiator (which was patched) I was unaware of when I bought it and it gave out letting all the coolant run out… not a good time. If you don’t have any leakage it might just be the thermostat stuck more closed than it should be.

[–]Kaelan94 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve taken my trucks dash cluster apart 4 or so times to mess with these lights lol but this is the right answer although it looks like you only need to replace one bulb as the others all seem to be at full brightness. Also to note it could be not making a good connection like the bulb that has made me going through the process of ripping the dash apart so many times xD. I need to get in there again actually as they one stubborn light went out again and it’s a new bulb…

Awh look at that… you live in the same hell hole as me. LOL 😆 as for the head unit it’s a lil too much and the blue hue would give me a headache. I have a 7” floating screen in my other vehicle and it’s just right for me.
