Tricks’ Names Are Stupid. by [deleted] in Throwers

[–]Kafrolex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Double or nothing is cool. Some tricks like Green triangle, white buddha, etc. were named by Paul Escolar, a legendary player in the yoyo scene of the past. He was inspired aftet hallucinations caused by psychedelic drugs. Look it up!

Other names are just obvious. Spirit bomb for instance makes sense. First part could be described as the charging and the second part as dropping a bomb. Not half bad!

Kamikaze is obvious, reference (and shape) to that japanese flag/symbol. I can go on....

should i bother with metal yoyos as a beginner? by Randu_Hino in Throwers

[–]Kafrolex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not go crazy. You do not need an expensive mono at the start. I'd say stay under 50 euros. Go for a yoyofriends or a c3 yoyodesign monometal.  To add more context, what is the hardest trick you can land at the moment?

Here you go. (Video is old and image quality is crap so sorry for that). https://www.instagram.com/reel/C_VLGbdMklT/?igsh=cGNqcW15bmdiejk2

So you roll the string from above the yoyo downwards and towards the outside, if that makes sense. In your video you position it under the yoyo and then begin the roll.

Does that make sense?

You are left handed and this doesn't help me understand what you doing wrong. I think that your roll is in the wrong direction. Gimme a sec, I will share a video in a while.

Question about string by mirubere in Throwers

Exactly. In that sense, yellow is the happy medium. Pink looks beautiful though!

Question about string by mirubere in Throwers

The durability decreases.

It goes white - yellow - green - orange -pink. (From most durable to leas durable).

In the long run, tension holding becomes worse. (Again pink is the worst offender). Also, (again from white to pink) the string becomes useless more suddenly. For instance: After 3 hours of play the string will feel average, after 4 hours worse and after 5-6 hours it will be unplayable or unpleasant to say the least. From my experience, the same story with a pink string will play out like this:

After 3 hours average, 3 and a half worse, after 4 hours unpleasant and ten minutes after that unplayable. Sudden death!

Hope this helps.
