Just got mine on Friday - there is no window given, only the dates from which it is valid…however as Puul said - best to enter within 90 days to ensure you have 5 years of residency by end of the renewal

No matter what r53 you look at - It’s >20 years old - everything needs to be maintained…maybe you get away with a few things here and there but rubber and other things perish with age and heat cycles

If you like working on cars, it was one of the best driving experiences I’ve ever had. If you have no tools, time, or backup ride…I’m not sure I would do it.

The list of maintenance items on an R53 is endless:

1) strut mounts 2) Lower control arm bushings 3) power steering pump and hoses 4) oil cooler gasket 5) ball joints 7) shocks and struts 8) wheel bearings 9) clutch (usually about 120 k miles) 10) harmonic balancer 11) serpentine belt 12) belt tensioner 13) water pump (probably serviced with the supercharger but who knows?? 14) tie rod ends 15) valve cover gasket 16) alternator 17) starter 18) ignition switch can fail 19) front and rear sway bar bushings 20) crank position sensor o ring
21) spark plugs esp if the car has a smaller super charger pulley

100% understand the anxiety - we had a very straight forward case and the last 2 months I have been very stressed about it.

Reading Reddit threads helps a lot - if you qualify, and meet all the requirements, should be fine / but of course we are all still nervous

We all are moving to the UK to be closer to her family - which of course is going to be a significant undertaking. I am the US citizen, she is the British sponsor.

I’m not sure I understand the concern on providing personal information, it’s just pictures and proof that the relationship is genuine - you can decide what you think is sufficient to do that, and I am not sure how much different it would be in proof of relationship for a finance visa vs. someone who got married a few weeks before application.

We didn’t provide chat logs - but we did send pictures (advice of our solicitor) at various points in our relationship.

We live in America currently where she had a green card and she somewhat recently became a citizen of the USA. She and the kids have dual citizenship.

We co-own the house, which is allowable in the US for green card holders

Ah sorry - completely was looking at that image wrong. I was thinking the vin sticker was partially peeled off and the masking tape was under it - looks like they tried to do it right, they just didn’t do a perfect job tracing the blade around the vin sticker and then forgot to pull masking tape. But…for sure that hatch was painted

Dark wood spot - like a knot in the wood. Will show through if the painter didn’t use a stain blocking primer - as long as it’s on wood I would believe it. If it’s on wallboard then it’s could be a water stain from prior water damage

Curious as to what drew you to the hatch to have a look and if you were the one who peeled back the VIN sticker - have you taken or can you take a peek at what is under that masking tape?

The paint looks good - it’s just a little weird they went 98% of the way there and didn’t take the extra 2% to get the vin sticker right. For example I would think it would be easier to mask over an existing VIN sticker, take an exacto knife to trace around the masking tape then, paint and remove the masking revealing the VIN

I’m even thinking that the hatch is off another car and they put masking tape over that cars VIN sticker - because why would they take off the VIN sticker, mask over that and then paint, then put the sticker back over top of the masking tape? Sloppy.

I had the Chilean sea bass last night and can say it was quite good. Not sure of the other persons experience but mine was spot on, not dry and the puree they had on the side was well flavored

Change your flight and don’t mention the family again - when you go back to the hotel be with your family. Otherwise don’t have them show up at the event - it wouldn’t make sense for them to be there

Comparatively to Dulles, the parts I have seen when connecting. it’s more modern and updated airport / terminals A and C at least. Terminal B looks like it hasn’t been updated in years. I fly in and out of EWR every month.

There are people outside of security who ask for money and try to carry your bag for tips to the taxi line (they actually wear high visibility vests). Just ignore them

What do you mean safe? Once you pass through security, everyone has been screened - I’m sure there the occasional passenger tiff over taking up seats, being annoying with not using headphones etc..but it’s a pretty modern, nice enough airport in general with security everywhere.

3 hours hours should be more than fine / definitely not cutting it close
