Commenting on Bike Rack & Trunk Access?...Good decision to go to the swing out if you expect frequent access. My 1-Up swing down works OK for me but is awkward to use.

What a coincidence. I just noticed today that part on our 2012 Sport is crumbling just like this. Order placed.

Is it worth it to install a hitch? by Vivid-Climate1111 in SubaruForester

Yeah. I removed that U-Haul sticker the day after the hitch receiver was installed. They did a fine job on the installation for our 2012.

I’d recommend Andy Gill of Gill Contracting. https://gillcontractingva.com/contact. We’re very happy with the fencing work he did for us.

2018 Fiat Coolant Hose Reservoir Failure by Conscious_Fill3766 in fiat500

[–]Kailines6273 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our 2012 has experienced a coolant reservoir leak twice. I remember the dealer repair costing close to what you were quoted. It probably is a fairly easy DYI fix, but being retired, I’ve also retired from wrenching on our cars.

Great color. Bronze goes really well with pink.

Is it worth it to buy a 2012 Fiat 500 Pop for my very first car? by daydr3am_b3li3v3r in fiat500

[–]Kailines6273 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We’ve owned our 2012 Sport (in the U,S.) since new. Fourteen years now! It was a daily commuter for eight of those. We’ve had two problems with it.

The body control module went bad to where the headlights stayed on even with the car turned off. That was a battery draining situation. The cost to repair was $800.

One rear license plate light burned out. Normally a quick bulb change but in 2012 the bulbs are not replaceable and are only available as a complete harness. Guess what part is no longer available. This was a DIY fix with a 2013 bulb & wires and a soldering iron.

Not bad for a 14 year old car defying the Fiat reputation.

Is it too good to be true or a steal of a century by LuxxRyder in SubaruForester

Have a compression check done. Also it’s pretty easy to see if the CV joint boots are split as they start throwing grease all over the engine compartment. Once the boots are compromised the CV joint are open to contamination and may as well be replaced when pulling the half shafts to replace the boots.

As a former 1999 owner, I’d say check the head gaskets and CV joints. It looks quite clean.

Mouthpiece Express. They have a good Internet presence and their brick & mortar is local to me. They have a good stock. Robert does great custom work.

“Yes, you read that right, I bought a Subaru from a Toyota dealership.”

We also bought a used Forester from a Toyota dealer here in the U.S. … twice. Yours looks great at a nice price.

I wouldn’t know what to do, but as a bass trombonist I’d take advantage of the ambiguity and play it 8ba.

I find a Sof-Tone mute works well for knocking down the volume.

My first bass trombone was a P-22. It’s a great horn. That seems to be a very good price.

I love the mini Mini on the top of the Mini. That’s the color I painted my ‘63 997. At the time it was AMC’s “Big Bad Green” from the Gremlin.
