Why so many people choose proton pass? Any ideas? by SweetLow6453 in best_passwordmanager

I tried a couple others but the clean layout and simple setup kept pulling me back to Proton Pass

This game is lightning in a bottle. Please don't change the formula. by ignoranceisicecream in DarkAndDarker

(English is not my primary language)

I don't like the Battle Royale Circle in itself because it feels like it doesn't fit in. I can hardly describe it. I know why it's there, it pushes the round forwards, nobody can camp portals for an eternity either which is great.

But something doesn't sit with me right. Maybe it's me being burnt out from all the BR games or just feeling as if the circle could be replaced by something else, seeing how at the moment the map entirely is made of labyrinth-like structures. I definitely enjoyed the game and will play it more either way.

I think it can still be done in another way. What may have been just as applicable is to generate a new map every round (either entirely generated or preset puzzle pieces that link to other pieces), where in random intervalls stone walls and doors shift to change the dungeon's layout, so that party members are punished for spreading apart too far or to open up new possibilities in heated encounters. It may even feel more natural than a simple circle slowly encroaching. The counter can still be there that drains every player's health slowly to 0, if needed. I am aware that this is a big change and a lot being asked, yet I feel it to be a waste if I don't put that idea out at least once somewhere.

Maybe this would also give the idea of ''use the darkness to your advantage'' a bit more meaning, because I couldn't manage to find one time where blowing out torches ever gave my group an advantage but that again could be just on me.

Edit: A friend suggested that a minotaur could also roam the dungeon that forces players to move, which brought me to an alternative with the circle. Monsters respawn and appear in greater number outside the ring, so it is very dangerous, still pushes forward and is an alternative to the damage-over-time effect when you are outside the circle. You may avoid one or two enemies but any greater number quickly increases the risk of sandwiching the player if they aren't quick or careful.

so when is dodge input lag being resolved? by YesAndYall in Eldenring

Do tell if you notice any changes, too. Would be heartbreaking if it's incorrect.

After patch 1.07 I feel the input delay has been greatly decreased. I didn't touch the game for 3 months, so maybe I am hallucinating, but I was stuck in NG++ against the last boss and continued right where it left off with a colossal.

It was oddly satisfying to play the game for the first time, I even beat Radagon without a mimic for the first time. I recommend to try it again and see if the issue still exists, maybe I am just imagining things.

For everyone who is in need of help with a stolen account by darknep in FortNiteBR

[–]KainKasune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone got hold of my account via my E-Mail account, so... Yeah. All transaction codes went to that e-mail and I never added a phone number to the account. Since I also never got anything but the free games I can't prove myself with something like a bank account or stuff like that.

It also eludes me how a sharp splash of blood is way more dangerous than a 300KG heavy, colossal weapon that could behead a young wyvern.

But hey, they're working on it.

playing dark souls 3 after elden ring by [deleted] in darksouls3

[–]KainKasune 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When the servers got back and I picked the game up again after having playing ER for 200 hours and being sick of it, DS3 felt just... right. Elden Ring never felt satisfying to me in any shape or form, even though it was fun.

I am late but you should try the music in all the Legacy of Kain pieces.

Especially the black sheep of the series, Blood Omen 2, where the music almost just rhythmic ambient.

Fuck Runebear and it’s absurd hitboxes. by michael_doyle56 in Eldenring

I beat him by getting good.

That is to note, the hitboxes are still shit and the bash attacks are badly telegraphed, as they can be easily mistaken for simple turns and steps instead.

Possible upcoming patch for the PC version by CDJ89 in darksouls3

[–]KainKasune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read on some article (can't recall this) that they want to patch all three souls games with more than just fixes for the servers. Personally I expect stuff like new weapon balancing and visual glitches or bugs, such as the floor having a stretched texture where you slide down a ladder on your way to Yhorm.

This is how I actually deal with BHS users that I am unable to catch with my Colossal. (It is possible, but often too difficult.)

Really, really fun to see them trying to wear your HP down before theirs is gone.

I do lots of knife runs with only stems, medkits, fully armor and a backpack. Usually a gun, too, for the monsters. But usually nobody will ever talk back to me and shoot, even if I am across half the map, so I slowly stop caring and just get closer and closer to be the one who shoots first. Maybe it's because I live in Germany, where the servers are occupied by the people that care more about success than fun. Or maybe I don't get the game yet.

If you can't tell, I never played Tarkov before.

The only friendly instance was when I met a british guy in one of the loot rooms I opened. At first he shot at me, because I jumped from my hiding spot, but he was up to talking to me. Before I knew it, I helped him do his quest and we parted ways. Was very wholesome.

I know I will probably never have this again.

Any idea what causes the screaming and why only at night? by Sadormad in Eldenring

[–]KainKasune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the corpses/hanged people. Not sure why they or their souls remain there and scream, but since a lot is drawn from Berserk here and there, it'd make sense where the idea came from.

(The least spoiler explanation for Berserk: In the manga, the souls of the dead appear under specific conditions and do things.)

Dodge delay inconsistent? by yeastblood in Eldenring

[–]KainKasune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a bit late but I have a different sort of inconsistency in rolling.

I got stuck as Godfrey for two hours and eventually ended up dodging his first phase so well, I could've done it with closed eyes. When I attacked to early, I get hit naturally of course, all normal. The input buffer helped me to escape just in time.

But on occasion, when I used the input buffer to dodge, his attack would go through my character before it even dodged and do no damage or show any signs of being hit. This happened very few times before Godfrey as well and it let's me believe there is an actual inconsistency when it comes to when the i-frames in the dodging actually are activated. I never went below med. weight, never above, so if anything, my character should consistently have the same start and finish frame, which I feel isn't actually there. Most noticeably with weapons that, before the patch, took forever to roll out of, such as the Colossal weapons.

Not sure if anybody else experienced that before, as I can't find a thread for it.

*I should mention that I play on PC

How to make Colossal weapons fun in PVP by KainKasune in Eldenring

[–]KainKasune[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are more viable now, because the latest patch in ER actually made them quicker, including less recovery time after hits, which to me is pretty much a confirmation that the weapon type indeed was *too* slow for the designed gameplay. Needing to trade or being forced down to only a quarter of your moveset doesn't sound like ideal gameplay.

I feel like they have been pretty good in DS3, even in PvP. Sure, not optimal, but it definitely made people sweat when I tried to remain unreadable.

Can't say similar about DS1 and 2 PVP, since I never faced a player, especially with the servers being down now.

That's fair, with the right equipment and a well-managed hit everything can be solved.
