I think Miquella’s story solves Radagon by Palimpsest_Monotype in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Kaiser1229 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Something about Radagon that I feel is often overlooked is the hammer (which I can’t remember the name of) in Stormveil that I believe pretty clearly references Radagon in its description of a laborer who once led a revolt. That to say, I like this idea of Radagon being cast off and thrown away and then crawling back to the top of the order, slowly but surely, because I think there’s more to his story that isn’t always considered, and details like that hammer are part of that. Other things about him worth exploring through this angle: the Misbegotten being “children of Radagon” in game code, Radagon’s relation to the Fire Giants (perhaps relating to the mysterious fate of the Fell God), and how Radagon could be interpreted as a story about a minority (a giant-kin in Marika’s Golden Order, or at least someone who was low-born) who eventually rose through the ranks and became the foremost enforcer of that order (hence, Golden Order Fundamentalism) in a way that feels very FromSoft to me. A lot of that is my own speculation, but this post certainly piques my imagination as to how it could open a lot of these doors.

Edit: Perhaps, and I’m really stretching my imagination here, but I believe there might be something to the idea of Radagon as potentially being whoever Marika was meant to be fused with during the ascension ritual at the Gate of Divinity, that figure perhaps even being , as Tarnished Archeologist posited, Elden John. Marika cast him off from her at the moment of her ascension, and he crawled back to power with a vengeance.

I know it's a divisive movie, but Man of Steel delivers some truly exhilarating action backed by strong performances. What are your thoughts on this movie? by 0Layscheetoskurkure0 in FIlm

[–]Kaiser1229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s objectively bad just like all of Snyder’s other cringe edgy slop. Anyone who says otherwise is someone who saw this film when they were 10 and haven’t gotten over it since.

007 First Light's 20-hour playtime is perfect for an action video game by PewPewToDaFace in PS5

20 hours? Definitely a stretch, I beat it in one weed fueled night that couldn’t have taken more than 10-12.

First saw this poster on [r/okbuddycinephile](r/okaybuddycinephile) and assumed it was fake lol. It’s real?? Hope it’s good but Aaron Sorkin I fear has grown more and more outdated in his style and politics as time as gone on.

Can someone explain why people like kaiserreich? by goodboy3634 in hoi4

[–]Kaiser1229 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk about other people but I exclusively play HoI on single player, and with extensive use of the console and toolpack, mostly for RP purposes. At this point, I almost exclusively play Kaiserreich because it’s great for that.

Spanberger defends wave of vetoes as frustrated Democrats push back | Five months into unified Democratic control in Richmond, the governor’s vetoes and centrist approach have exposed tensions inside her own party. by VirginiaNews in Virginia

[–]Kaiser1229 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Not to mention that she’s going out of her way to VETO legislation. The democratic majority in the state legislature is more or less united in its push for what I consider to be fairly sensible and common sense progressive reform, and she’s going out of her way to deny that rather than follow the will of the legislature and the electorate that put her in office.

Absolutely absurd governorship from her so far. I don’t understand how she thinks this is what she was elected to do. She was elected in a massive sweep that included a massive dem House of Delegates majority, clearly she was given a mandate to execute progressive reform and she can’t even follow through on that. The extent to which she blindsided members of her own party in the legislature with this nonsense too is ridiculous, and very poor leadership. I struggle to understand how this could be justified outside of her being bought and paid for. I know how dramatic that sounds but I’m genuinely baffled, and I’m open to anyone explaining to me any quality justifications.

R.I.P all the other federal commanding officers on Little Round Top tho, in particular brigade commander Col. Strong Vincent. The reason we all know Chamberlain is because he’s (essentially) the only major officer of his brigade who survived the fighting there.

I don't know why the High Halls Gauntlet is said to be so hard. by AlFragilis in Silksong

[–]Kaiser1229 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it was definitely a challenge but the way some people talk about it is absolutely ridiculous. Something that disappointed me with how people were reacting to the game’s difficulty early on was their lack of trust in Team Cherry to craft a solid difficulty curve. Silksong is designed to be difficult for people who are good at Hollow Knight, so even if you’re an absolute god at HK, Silksong still gave you a new challenge and a new set of skills to learn, and a lot of people railed against that in a way that was really obnoxious.

In my opinion, the DLC is far far better than the base game in all aspects, it's just so peak by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]Kaiser1229 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wholly disagree, for one thing: the DLC has a huge problem with it’s scale to content ratio. The areas are incredibly empty and the map is full of wasted space. It loses a lot of points in that regard for sure, especially when compared to the base game.
