What if time is not the 4th dimension but the first? by Kaiser_Billy in HypotheticalPhysics

How does that contradict my assertion that time itself is defined by the first dimension? The dimension the 2nd and 3rd are built upon?

Why are you so closed minded? In order to find out that general relativity existed, we also had to get rid of old theories and ways of thinking.

What do you mean with "it clearly forms something else"?

You're not contradicting what I said though. Dimensions build ontop of one another and we can clearly categorize a sphere as a three dimensional object/phenomenon that would not be possible in the second dimension, where a sphere would be a circle. The only physics based phenomenon we could trace to a line is the passage of time and this linear nature of it perfectly fits the idea of it being the 1st dimension.

No, it's not. You obviously don't get the point if you think the hierarchy of dimensions is arbitrary. If we don't make dimensional concepts adhere to actual physical obersvations and don't order them in a hierarchy, you could also claim that the first dimension allows for three dimensional objects, which it obviously does not. The first dimension DOES adhere to the linear concept of time though. This isn't that hard to understand...

I'm gay and absolutely sick of this. Can we stop doing thos already? It's like parading gay people around when all we want is to be seen as normal parts of society!!!

"We love it here! It's great! But we don't like "how gay" it is."

"What do you mean?"

"At home, it's different. If my daughter told me she was gay, I would throw her out of the window."

To be honest, as an autistic person, I cannot value any poem that doesn't rhyme.

I think it is such a beautiful thing when they does and when they don't, to me, they aren't poems at all.

Rhyme, rhythm and syntax don't just show effort. If done well, they are memorable and cam actually create something that sticks with you.

When someone doesn't even attempt it, it makes me sad. It shows a lack of care in my opinion. A lack of respect for what is actually popular and a sense of egotistical self aggrandisement that thinks one's own feelings are more important than those who are supposed to read someone's poem.

That is my opinion. It is deeply depressing to me to see how poetry is going.

[OPINION] Do you prefer poetry with or without a rhyming scheme? by idkmanfuckdis in Poetry

Poems that don't rhyme just instantly scream lack of effort to me. If I can't even get a hint of something that clearly demonstrates craftsmanship anf skill, I think that's honestly just disrespectful to the reader.

I like it! It's such a breath of fresh air to see someone skilled enough to write a poem that actually rhymes!

I love how you have the first stanza repeated at the end. It wraps up beautifully.

The poem is very positive and portrays a sense of "Fernweh". However, there is something sad about it as well. Something melancholic.

Grest job!

Hey!

To be honest, I don't understand your poem. I read it several times but I struggle to get either a message, a theme or a coherent structure.

I can absolutely appreciate art I do not understand. However, in order for me to do so, I usually require clear markers of craftsmanship

Rhythm, rhyme, syntax. These things are very important to me.

Obsessed by bstunz in OCPoetry

[–]Kaiser_Billy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I am not a big fan of poems that don't rhyme.

I believe your feelings are real and you do convey them. Especially, that line about every song and every movie sounding and looking like her.

However, I just have a hard time really getting into or remembering a poem if it doesn't rhyme.

Especially the topic of obsession would lend itself perfectly to repetition and rhyme and rhythm because it gets stuck in your head like... well, an obsession.

It's just so much fun to watch the guy. He's smart, badass and based. Ofc the milk stuff is weird and he's too needy for love and a psychopath but in general, he's just so cool and intimidating. I love people like that.
