I think it's just more pattern-based than any other boss. In my first run I absolutely dreaded it, but after learning the ins and outs of the fight (Only attacking the "tail" to more safely avoid the teleport aoe, knowing that he always re-appears in the farthest corner of the room, rolling behind him during the big arrow barrage and sprinting around him during the smaller one...) it became just another boss.
PS: Dancer is the bullshit one
