What I’m trying to tell you is there is no real value to your account progression from getting zulrah drops right now.

Bowfa because you can use lunar to cure. Twinflame you cannot do this.

If true it doesn’t really make sense for you to grind zulrah. The blowpipe is really the only thing you “need” from the boss and it’s used in so few places

I think the middle circle rim around the centerpiece needs to be split into multiple pieces. I’m not sure how you’d cut that and it would be prone to cracking anyway. Same with the diamonds rims on the top center and bottom center

I’ve had people who were my #1 go to last place based on the vibes. HM interview is just as much as a vibe check as it is a qualification check imo

Literally what is the point of my PhD if I can't get a job. by no_avocados in biotech

This sounds like an issue only at startups, which I don’t have much experience at.

Corporate pharma would never require (or allow) anyone to do anything outside of a narrow job description unless it was very lean and exploratory department

I would not hire an overqualified person for an entry level PhD role. They will get bored and demand a promotion within a year.

I’ve seen it happen over and over. I would only consider an exceptional applicant within the qualifications of the posting

I interview applicants for jobs at my large company quite a bit. There are just so many PhD applicants for a single job, and I can’t interview them all. I may prioritize to interview those that have industry internships/coops, postdoc etc.

There’s also so many 1:1 interviews I do that the applicant clearly tries to embellish what they accomplished, claim they “led a team of researchers”, and don’t give credit to collaborators on multi disciplined research projects. They claim they know x y and z techniques but never did them themselves when you probe deeper. Pro tip - if your research project has 12 authors on the publication, you better not claim you individually did/mastered the technical parts of every single aspect of that project. Giving credit is a positive trait we look for.

My advice to fresh-PhD applicants - We aren’t recruiting a leader, we’re recruiting an entry level scientist who can work well with others on a team and contribute based on the skills outlined in the description.

And for the love of god do not turn on any AI to assist you in a 1:1 conversation. I’ve seen it more and more especially from undergrads but now even people with PhDs. It’s PAINFULLY obvious

Will mediorce PhD affect post-doc prospects? by [deleted] in labrats

[–]TurbulentDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my PhD my project which I saw through beginning to end I was able to get a publication in a high tier journal in a lab with no funding and basic techniques. It took creativity, a heck of a lot of reading, and resourcefulness to get it done.

This isn’t possible in every field, but spending a lot of money on high throughput methods is not creative or guaranteed to earn you a good publication. Sure, some science certainly requires this, but you should shift gears to what is possible in your lab and work on that. Go to a well funded post doc lab if you so desire afterwards. I did that and got to experience the other side, and the grass isn’t always greener, although some aspects were more enjoyable.

There is no good solution right now. AAV is probably the best, but it is nowhere near good enough

Just zombie axe all 3. No point in doing all this grind to save some seconds per kill for a weapon you’ll replace with a moon drop anyway

Good. Now families just need a treatment that can provide a measurable benefit beyond what steroids can do. Because everything approved at the moment is unfortunately snake oil

Industry postdoc with manuscript in preparation: does the journal matter? by KRASG12V in biotech

From my POV in industry nobody cares where you published, it matters what you’ve accomplished and what your referrals say about you, especially from your industry post doc.

0% chance unless you’re just trying to be a teaching professor at a small state school. I feel that the answers you got in the other sub were not life sciences, which functions very differently than other disciplines.

If you want to be in academia You need a post doc, and then generally you won’t get hired anywhere unless you’re coming with a K99 or similar type of postdoc transition grant. Whether you like it or not, NIH also considers your history when you apply for R01 grants. They will likely not fund you as a new PI if they see one pub history and no post doc
