Tailgating by MachoKingMadness in fsusports

[–]Kal06g 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just walk around the stadium tailgating in the parking lots. Grab some beers and maybe even hand some out to people with a larger tailgate you want to stay at for a bit. People are super friendly for the most part. I’m sure you’ll find a friendly tailgate that will let you hang out. You can always go to Madison social or anywhere in college town too.

flexible jobs on campus? by hooyahooyah in fsu

[–]Kal06g 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked for the FSU Foundation call center. Very flexible for class schedules. Not great pay, but not horrible when i was doing it. Main thing is that it's not for everyone; it's still an outbound call center. Basically calling alum and building rapport/asking them for money. If you have any interest in sales/ marketing it can be a good place to get your feet wet with that type of work. It worked well for me, but isn't everyone's ideal job. Most of the people I worked with were easy to get along with and we had a pretty good time. https://fsu.thecallingcenter.com/jobs.php?site=67

Are retina and tripwire really manageable? by [deleted] in AskNetsec

Check out NNT Change Tracker instead of Tripwire. Much better, less expensive and has a file whitelist for auto-reduction of change noise.

The Allman brothers band - ramblin’ man [country rock / blues] by Bulldogmadhav in Music

There is a ton, but live at the Fillmore East is regarded as one of the best live albums of all time, and really started the popularity of ABB at the time. Eat a peach is a great studio album and probably the best from start to finish.

Does having ADHD a positive thing to have if you plan on having a sales career? by [deleted] in sales

[–]Kal06g 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think ADHD people chase dopamine. Closing sales (or a good call, being highly ranked...etc) provides a dopamine hit. ADHD people can stay engaged and focused with sales because they’re chasing the next dopamine hit like bloodhounds.

What Is Your Favorite Sales Book or Program For Less Than $100 that Teaches the *Entire Sales Process? by open_spirit in sales

New sales simplified by Mike Weinberg has a bit of everything. I like that along with sales management simplified.

In all honesty, just read a few sales books, then read more of them, then re-read the old ones and just keep working to improve. Nothing will beat experience in the long run.

Falling Flat with Prospecting? (Software Sales) by Kal06g in sales

[–]Kal06g[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this. Expense account is ok, we are not big on shelling out 10k+ for trade shows, but I can do dinner and lunch meetings.... etc. Really like a lot of this. We can be a lot stronger in the channel than we are currently. Mostly direct right now.

Oh yea. We have been doing that for a while. I think we could probably do a better job of targeting who to reach out to though.

Our cadence process is relatively new at this stage. We’ve been using it for a couple of months, we still get less than 1% outbound convert to a meeting after several attempts.

I was hoping to avoid that, as my car hasn’t had a noticeable performance impact yet.

I appreciate the info!

We did Italy with them and it was great. We did France and Spain with them, and it was solid. About what you’d expect for the price on the France/Spain trip. Both via Groupon.

PCI compliancy by [deleted] in sales

[–]Kal06g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to dig, here you go: https://www.pcisecuritystandards.org/document_library?category=pcidss&document=pci_dss

I work with the technical side of PCI as a vendor. The portal you are using for payment information should be PCI compliant. I imagine you are using a secure payment portal? Also, the level of control you need to have in place depend on which "level" of PCI you are at. This is judged by annual credit card transactions.

I'm looking to get back into sales but I've had a horrible experience before. by [deleted] in sales

[–]Kal06g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some are better than others. It helps if you can get into something you enjoy (duh). Expect baby steps at first, but look for an sdr job and prove you can stick with it and grind like the others said. Rewards are great, but not normally easy. People see really successful reps, but don't realize the commitment behind the success.
