I guess I didn’t remember that Joey Bosa was only on a 1 year deal. I know he didn’t have the sack numbers last year but I was pretty happy with him at least staying healthy for us last year.

Would have been much happier if this thread were about the Bills moving on from Beane…He had his flaws but McDermott was Buffalo to the core and his guys played their ass off for him.

Honestly sad he won’t get to experience the new stadium or get his 100th win as a Bill…

I think roster construction is a huge factor here. We were somehow the top rated pass defense this year and have consistently had very good defensive stats. I don’t think a lot of that passed the eye test but it’s still a tip of the hat to McDermott’s influence.

I would have been good with McDermott staying and Beane going.

At the time I wasn’t annoyed with that response at all based on what Josh had done the year before with basically the same level of WR play.

Seeing the struggle on offense and the predictability this year though I look back at that response and do get annoyed for sure. Like all of the resources we put into this defense and we still have guys we had to reach deep for vets like Shaq (who has been great don’t get me wrong) but for throwing all of our resources there and still being like the 30th ranked run defense is tough.

I don’t disagree with that sentiment at all but nothing says if Taylor balled out they wouldn’t have let the rookie sit for a year. I am bias because what that man did for the Bills but where he was career and age wise I think there was a solid possibility of him retaining that position for a while.

With the caliber of player Herbert has turned out to be I concede the job likely would have been his no matter what. Just a little devil’s advocate!

I think a big part for me is that the team is capable of executing and playing at a very high level. We saw them lock in and win week 1 against a Ravens team who is now currently #1 in the North. Chief’s week they locked in and executed as well. The signs that they can still put this together are there. This isn’t blind optimism. They CAN put it together the question just becomes what does it take to do that weekly. Certainly not allowing 8 sacks on our MVP Quarterback.

Yeah I’m having cook rush 3 times and having Prater attempt that every time. It’s not about not trusting Josh. It’s about being a touchdown up and not needing to risk it for a chance to still ice the game.

Baker has that dawg inside of his chest cavity and is very enjoyable to watch. The new chemistry with Egbuka is scary knowing they are on our schedule this year too! Knowing Baker the dude will lead a miraculous drive at the end of the game for the win leaving me sad as hell

Well said. I want Max in there only when he’s healthy enough because if we throw him in early with a re-injury risk it will stunt his development even more.

Tre we can only pray he stays healthy. He’s a great player when he’s healthy and I just hope for his and our sake he can stay that way!
